Areas of activity within HRM are:

Coordination of HR flagship initiatives, HR Communications, Data Analytics & Statistics, IT Support & Shared Common Services

Staffing & Recruitment Section
Recruitment of Fixed-term appointments, Project Appointments, Outreach activities, Young Talent Diversity Programmes, Geographical & Functional Mobility, Lateral transfers/placements.

Human Resources Staff Services Section
Administrative services to staff at Headquarters and the Field : staff appointments/on-boarding, compensation and benefits, pension and insurance, post classification, organizational design, post management, HR applications & IT support, and social welfare

Staff Pension & Insurance Unit
Medical Benefits Fund, UN Joint Pension Fund, other insurance schemes.

Classification, Compensation & Post Management Unit
Determining the grade of a post based on duties and responsibilities assigned to the post by the responsible manager, analysis of the job elements, including its placement in the organizational structure, classification standard

TASKS

The Intern will have the opportunity to learn and support the overall work of Bureau’s mission. Activities will vary depending on the requirements of the assignment. Specific Terms of Reference and learning objectives will form part of the agreement.
The work entrusted to interns falls under one or more of the following categories as per the requirements/needs of each team.

Contribute to the production/preparation of documents, working papers, and conceptual framework/concept notes on area of work or development challenges.
Collect, organize and analyze data.
Assist in the development of technical support in the development of new interventions or projects.
Undertake research and reviews to produce parts of documents, presentations etc..
Contribute to the preparation of communication materials
Participate in meetings and seminars.
Provide administrative and logistical support in the planning and organization of briefings, information sessions, workshops and other similar activities
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
It is expected that the assignment will provide the intern with the opportunity to develop skills in some of the specific domain of Human Resources depending on the assignment, and in areas such as:

Carry out data analysis and data presentation
Understand project management in the context of an international organization.
Gain insight into the development and dissemination of communication materials
Strengthen verbal and written communication skills, including through participating in meetings and presentations.
The intern will also gain an understanding of the overall work of UNESCO and be given an opportunity to develop soft skills of the UNESCO Competency Framework, such as teamwork, flexibility, results-focus and client-focus.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

You must be at least 20 years old to apply.

Academic qualifications:

At the time of your application to the internship programme:

You are currently enrolled in a graduate programme (Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent, second university degree or higher).
You have recently graduated with a Master’s degree or PhD (or second degree as defined above), 12 months prior to the start of the internship.

Please note that candidates who have completed their full-time bachelor’s degree but are not enrolled in a graduate programme are not eligible to apply.

Applicants in secretarial/assistant or technical/professional assignments must be enrolled in a secretarial school or in a specialized technical/professional institution, and must have reached the last year of their studies, or have recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from their school or institution.  

Languages:

You should have an excellent command, both written and spoken, of English or French. A working knowledge of the other language (English or French) is an asset, and may be required for internships in secretarial and assistantship assignments at the Headquarters.

Computer skills: You must have an excellent knowledge of computer systems and office-related software.

Team player:

You should be able to work well in a team and adapt to an international working environment.

Communication skills:

You should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

BENEFITS AND ENTITLEMENTS
UNESCO does not remunerate interns. There is no compensation, financial or otherwise for internship assignments.

Interns are entitled to 2.5 days of leave per month during their internship.

I. CONTEXTE
Action contre la Faim (ACF) est engagée dans une quête perpétuelle d’amélioration de la qualité de
ses programmes à travers la prise en compte des catégories de genre et l’intégration du genre dans la
mise en œuvre des projets.
La mission Cameroun dispose d’un département en charge du plaidoyer de la communication et du
genre, qui a le souci d’appuyer les jeunes dans leur renforcement de capacités en particulier sur le
volet genre. C’est dans cette perspective qu’est lancé le recrutement d’un.e stagiaire pour intégrer la
mission et travailler de manière étroite avec tous les collègues de la mission pour renforcer les aspects
genre des projets et de la mission.
Affecté.e à la coordination, le/la stagiaire aura l’opportunité d’évoluer dans une organisation
internationale et apprendre de diverses thématiques utiles à une insertion professionnelle dans le

Suivre les GMS pour que ceux-ci soient respectés ;
Participer aux différentes formations sur le genre ;
Participer à l’élaboration de l‘outil de tracking du genre dans les projets ;
Contribuer à l’audit des projets pour s’assurer que le genre soit intégré dans les propositions
de projet, dans la mise en œuvre et le suivi des projets ;
Participer aux différentes analyses genre de la mission ;
Contribuer à l’analyse rapide genre des projets de la mission ;
Contribuer à la diffusion de la politique genre d’Action Contre la Faim au sein de la mission ;

Partager la politique genre d’Action Contre la Faim avec les partenaires extérieurs.

III. ZONES D’INTERVENTION DU STAGIAIRE
Le lieu d’affectation du/de la stagiaire est Yaoundé. Si possibilité et sous réserve validation préalable
de la responsable Plaidoyer Communication et Genre, il/elle pourra visiter les bases opérationnelles
de la mission.

Formation
 Diplôme / Niveau d’études : Licence dans les domaines du genre, et des sciences sociales
Savoirs:
 Connaissance du genre dans l’action humanitaire
 Connaissances du contexte humanitaire du Cameroun ;
Savoirs faire :

 Compétences en analyse
