Position: IT Assistant 
Location: Yaoundé, Cameroon
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: 100,000 FCFA per month

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive, organized, and technically skilled IT Assistant to support both the company’s business development activities and internal IT operations. This hybrid role combines 60% Marketing Assistant responsibilities with 40% IT support functions. The successful candidate will help generate new business opportunities, maintain strong client relationships, promote the company’s digital services, and provide first-level technical support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Business Development (60%)

  • Identify and research potential clients through market research, online platforms, networking, and business directories.
  • Prospect new customers through phone calls, emails, social media, and other communication channels.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings with prospective clients to discuss their business needs.
  • Prepare service proposals, quotations, presentations, and follow up on sales opportunities.
  • Maintain and update the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database with accurate client information and sales activities.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Collect customer feedback and recommend improvements to products and services.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
  • Assist in achieving the company’s sales and business development objectives.

IT Support & Technical Assistance (40%)

  • Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Assist with user account management, password resets, software installation, and system updates.
  • Perform routine data backups and support basic cybersecurity practices.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and assist with maintaining IT infrastructure.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory, technical documentation, and equipment records.
  • Support employees with day-to-day IT requests and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Escalate complex technical problems to senior IT personnel when necessary.
  • Ensure IT equipment is functioning efficiently and report maintenance needs.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (BSc/HND/Licence) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in IT support, technical assistance, sales, marketing, business development, or a similar hybrid role.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software installation, networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of digital marketing, customer engagement, and lead generation techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing business and technical needs.
  • Bilingual (English and French) is an added advantage.
