Job Description
The Civil Engineer will execute engineering duties in planning, designing, supervising
construction and maintenance activities of the cement grinding plant, office structures, water
sewage systems, and waste disposal units.
Duties and Responsibilities (Not Exhaustive)
• Supervise construction activities, operations, and maintenance at the plant site;
• Evaluate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project
viability;
• Test materials to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, rods;
• Contribute in surveying to lay out installations and establish reference points, grades,
and elevations to guide construction;
• Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design
specifications and safety or sanitation standards;
• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other
topographical or geologic data to plan projects;
• Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and
structural repairs to industrial and managerial personnel;

• A good understanding of mechanical processes in the cement industry;
• Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it;
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative
solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems;
• Understand safety measures in a construction plant;
• Good communication skills, an outstanding aptitude to work in a team;
• Fluent in spoken and written English and German and a working knowledge in
French;
• Very good Microsoft Office skills.

Qualification
• A Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Civil Engineering. A master’s degree is a plus.
Experience
• At least 7 – 10 years’ experience of practice in civil construction.
• Should be a registered member of a professional body in the related field.
