Background:
The name of the organization is Alliance for Community Initiative, which was established in 2018 with the aim of addressing health-related issues in underprivileged communities. The foundation focuses on providing education, resources, and support to vulnerable groups, including adolescents.
Over the past five years, Alliance for Community Initiative has made significant strides in combating HIV among adolescents. The foundation has implemented various prevention and support programs tailored specifically to this age group.

Considering that Sexual Reproductive Health is the core focus of Men Engage Cameroon with all network members leading interventions on the promotion of Sexual Reproductive Health Rights in their target communities, to ensure access to reproductive Health and Rights (involvement of men and women in decision-making, improving services, and access to safe abortion.)
Mindful of the responsibilities and obligations of Reach Out Cameroon as the Secretariat of the
Mefn Enge Cameroon network;
Within the framework of the Network Grant between AmplifyChange (the Funder) and Reach Out Cameroon (the Grantee) for the implementation of the project entitled “Men Engaged: Transforming Mindsets Against Toxic Masculinities and Building Community-based Champions for Women’s SRHRs in Cameroon” wherein Reach Out Cameroon undertakes to contribute to AmplifyChange thematic priorities and mission thereto including; Addressing gender-based violence, including sexual violence and female genital mutilation (FGM), Addressing the causes of unsafe abortion, Challenging stigma and discrimination, attitudes and laws that undermine human rights, Improving sexual health of young people and girls, Increasing access to comprehensive reproductive health services;
Mindful of the commitment of Reach Out Cameroon and its downstream partner Alliance for Community Initiative to adhere to the aforementioned;
We are excited to announce an open call for applications for the position of SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) Community Mobilizer and Community counselors. This is an incredible opportunity for individuals who are passionate about advocating for and promoting sexual and reproductive health in our community.
OBJECTIVEIS
To identify and build the capacity of at least 320 community-based counselors and mobilizers to serve as champions in transforming mindsets of at least 120 000 community members against toxic masculinity and challenging socio-cultural practices that enforce gender-based violence and abuse of women’s sexual and reproductive health rights.
To strengthen the capacity of a minimum of 75 members of staff drawn from at least 24 Civil
Society Organizations that make up the Men Engage Cameroon network on community-led
Gender-based violence sensitization and communication and behavioral change strategies
that improve the sexual health of young people in Cameroon.
The Community MOBILIZER:
Responsibilities and Activities
-Trained community champion tasked with transforming the mindsets of community members against toxic masculinity, GBV and promote acceptance of women’s SRHR.
– Understand, adopt and appropriately communicate GBV and SRHR content.
– Identify and refer GBV cases to the CBC.
– 4 CBCs per Community
– Monthly Community Sensitization on GBV and SRHR: Door-Door and Group Sensitization.
– Monthly Identification and Referral of GBV cases to CBCs.
– Quaterly Community Dialogue Meetings.
– Monthly Project Reporting.
– Advocacy against GBV and acceptance of women’s SRHR
The Community-Based Counsellor: Activities
– Monthly identification and referral of survivors for appropriate GBV services.
– Monthly provision of PSS or counselling services to GBV survivors.
– Monthly case management of GBV survivors.
– Monthly Project Reporting.
– Advocacy against GBV malpractices and acceptance of women’s SRHR.
Requirements:
1. Strong knowledge of GBV issues and current trends.
2. Demonstrated experience in community mobilization or grassroots organizing, preferably in the field of sexual and reproductive health.
3. Strong knowledge of SRHR issues and current trends.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills.
6. Proficiency in local languages and knowledge of the local context is strongly preferred.
7. Be between 25-55 years old
