We are looking for a Brand Manager for one of our clients.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Brand Manager is responsible for developing and executing the brand plans and marketing programs, for the
Client portfolio, adhering to global guidelines and ensuring brand objectives are achieved.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
Based in Douala, the Brand Manager reports directly to the Country Manager & the Product Manager, works in close
relationship with the Company’s market manager for Central Africa and is responsible for:
1. Developing and implementing annual brand plans in accordance with the company global strategy
2. Establishing good working relationship with the company and developing strong customer and sales
relationships
3. Providing clear consumer insights (consumer needs, segmentation, and value proposition)
4. Creating value by building brand equity with the consumer targets, whilst creating below the line tools to achieve
sales objectives
5. Agreeing objectives with sales team, jointly developing marketing and brand plans for channels and key
accounts
6. Building and activating the brand in the trade (planning and executing tailored events, promotions)
7. Developing and implementing activities to recruit new consumers in close cooperation with sales teams
8. Managing and controlling Brand budget (A&P, POS) and promotions to ensure optimal allocation of expenditure
9. Monitoring and evaluating key programs with recommendations for future action
10. Managing local advertising creative development and ensuring optimum media schedules (if applicable)
11. Leading local promotional development (objective setting, implementation, and post-evaluation)
12. Developing PR plans, setting objectives and ensuring post evaluation
13. Ensuring that local PR activities and messages are in line with brand strategy
14. Acting as a Brand ambassador internally and externally: Sales Force, Trade, Consumers, Public Relations
Agencies, Press, etc.
15. Developing monthly marketing reporting of all activities in Cameroon.
16. Managing individual T&E budget in the most professional manner and operating at all time with high level of
integrity
Profile/ Skills
The Candidate must have
• 4+ years of experience
• Proven working experience as Brand Manager or Associate Brand Manager
• Proven ability to develop brand and marketing strategies and communicate recommendations to executives
• Experience in identifying target audiences and devising effective campaigns2/2
• Excellent understanding of the full marketing mix
• Strong analytical skills partnered with a creative mind
• Data-driven thinking and an affinity for numbers
• Outstanding communication skills
• Up to date with latest trends and marketing best practices
• Degree in marketing or a related field
• In-depth understanding of the company’s current products and future concepts
• A willingness to listen
• Ability to think creatively and innovatively
• Budget-management skills and proficiency
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and French)
• Good knowledge of Microsoft pack (Excel, Power point, etc)
