    JOB OFFER
    Job Title: Business Development & Sales Associate (BDSA)
    Level: Entry or Mid-Career Level.
    Location: In-person, the BDSA will work from the office in Bonamoussadi, Douala-Cameroon. Work days: Mondays to Fridays and exceptionally during weekends.
    Type of Contract: Full time contract of employment regulated by Cameroon law. Languages Required: English & French.
    Compensation: Fixed salary and commission on sales.
    Expected Start Date: November 2021 (negotiable).
  2. Duties and Responsibilities:
    Under the guidance and supervision of the Managing Director (MD), the Business Development & Sales Associate will perform the following tasks:
  • Effectively liaise with actual and potential clients of Fort Alternates and its subsidiaries (the Company) as well as technical delivery teams on all aspects of business development and sales.
  • Designing and implementing a strategic sales plan that expands the Company’s customer base
    in 2021.
  • Draft business proposals for the Company. From time to time, as the companies identify potential
    clients, the Business Development & Sales Associate will be required to;
  • (1) send out introductory emails and participate in calls or physical meetings with the potential clients to better understand their needs
  • (2) adapt the business proposals or pro-forma invoices to the client’s specific needs,
  • (3) work with the MD to review and approve the proposals,
  • (4) send out the proposals to targeted clients and,
  • (5) follow up until the signing of an agreement.
  • Act as main person of contact within the Company in charge of coordinating the establishment of deliverables.
  • Manage the company’s brand promotion and ensure its strong presence online and offline.
  • Coordinate all SEO and Social Media Management activities. Where applicable, supervise work delivered by the marketing services providers, other marketing/sales staff/interns and, review their deliverables to ensure that they meet specific KPIs and coordinate payment for
    their services.
  • Coordinate electronic and hard-copy filing of documents.
  1. Requirements

  2.  BA/BS/MA/MBA or MS in Marketing, Sales, Business Management or a related field. Persons with other academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply if they have previous experience in sales.
     Ability to communicate in English and French.
     Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively.
     Ability to draft business proposals and design presentations using PowerPoint, Canva and
    other presentation tools.

  5. Recruitment process: The interview and recruitment process shall be conducted in two phases:
    a. There shall be a written phase where the applicant shall be expected to draft a sales plan for a professional services business in PPT format (5 slides maximum).
    b. There shall be an oral phase where the applicant shall be required to present the sales plan and respond to other questions from a jury.
