Job description

Job Role Summary

The Accountant reports to the Accounting Supervisor and has the following responsibilities:

• Perform balance sheet accounts reconciliation
• Prepare the financial statements for Shareholders
• Manage and coordinate accruals review and posting
• Balance sheet report, analysis and aged items tracking
• Perform monthly department costs analysis
• Daily Bank reconciliation and posting
• Petty cash account control
• Interact with External and internal auditors
• Improve General Ledger cost coding by developing and implementing best practices

Work location is Douala, with periodic trips to COTCO sites (Dompta, Belabo, Kribi and offshore), depending on operations requirements.

Expected Level of Proficiency

The candidate must have a Master Degree in Finance or Accounting (BAC +4 or 5) with proven work experience of minimum 4 years as an Accountant or Financial Analyst.

Must be able to speak English and French, with the ability to communicate in English over the phone and via email.

Knowledge of SAP Enterprise Accounting System is an added advantage.
