Union Bank of Cameroon Plc is presently in search of Enterprise Risk Manager in its head office, Douala Cameroon.

Title: ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGER Category: (To be determined based on background and experience)

Reporting Line: Reports to the Head, Internal Control & Compliance

Job Purpose:

 Achieve compliance with Basel III

 Develop and implement an Enterprise Risk Management Framework for the Bank

 Review, test and improve all risk policies and procedures

 Monitor and enforce compliance with risk management principles and policies

 Maintain and ensure consistency of dialogue between the bank, external/ internal auditors and the Central Bank

 Keep abreast regulatory policies as they relate to the bank’s policies, procedures and standards

 Motivates and organize team in compliance to ERM framework and foster a risk awareness culture in the organisation

 Participate in industry and other professional networks to ensure awareness of best practices and standards

 Assist Senior Management to formulate and communicate the Bank’s ERM objectives and direction

 Co-ordinate the effective delivery of appropriate training programs to the Bank staff

 Establish risk strategies to achieve key portfolio performance metrics in growth, loss and profitability;

Job Principal Accountabilities (Key Tasks and Additional Activities)

 Assistance and guidance in the development of Target Market and Risk Acceptance Criteria

 The review and recommendation for approval of product programs

 The formulation and implementation of appropriate: credit, Information Security; Legal Regulatory compliance; reputational strategic; operational and market risk policies

 Establishment of structures for the effective management of risk across the bank

 Co-ordination and delivery of effective risk training across the bank

 Effective identification of risks in the bank’s products and processes

 Restricting credit, operational and market risks within acceptable thresholds

 Proactive environmental scanning and early identification of key risks

Competencies/ Skills:

 Master’s degree in finance, accounting, law, business management, or related field

 Five years’ exposure in banking or auditing. A professional certification in Risk Management will be an added advantage

 Have a thorough knowledge of local and regional banking regulations

 Excellent written and oral communication as well as organization.

 Ability to work under pressure in a competitive environment

 Result oriented attitude, independent and unsupervised

 Fully bilingual: French and English. Application Procedure:
