Head of Sales and Operations
You will have to:
Ensure the achievement of sales by building, identifying and acquiring new partnerships for our
sales distribution channel that can be replicated across Cameroon in order to expand our aYo
Cameroon reach and sales.
You will be expected to provide professional support, advice, guidance for the partnership and
strategic insight to help both parties to achieve their primary goals though their partnership.
You will be responsible for:
• Analyze the market in order to identify distribution partnerships with potential in support of
aYo’s strategy
• Develop objectives and agreed action plan to achieve desired outcomes
• Negotiate fees, set up and manage strategic distribution partners
• Propose targeted commercial and marketing actions to boost the production of partners
• Propose and implement innovative approaches to insurance distribution
• Develop and manage of relationships with contracted Partners ensuring a high level of
performance against set targets
• Train on aYo’s products and processes and supervise the agents provided by the partners
• Overseeing communication between each entity and ensure that each business understands
the other’s needs, goals and expectations.
• Establish short- and long-term goals, ensuring alignment and identifying any potential
differences
• Ensure that partnerships clearly understand their targets and meet or exceed agreed sales,
revenue, and leads targets
• Monitor the quality of interactions with existing and prospective clients, and provide training
where necessary to ensure company standards are being maintained
• Work closely with the product, customer success, and technology teams to maximize activation
rates
• Review customer persistency, revenue and claims performances from business produced by
contracted partners to ensure company objectives are achieved.
Some work you will need to do:
• Monitoring of objectives: follow-up of new sales, follow-up of renewals, implementation of
corrective actions to ensure objectives are achieved
Preparation of various reports on the activity and turnover of the networks
Execution of the sales action plan set up for each partner
Periodic visits to partners
Competitive intelligence
You will need:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study
• Minimum 2 years sales experience in financial services, banking, micro-insurance, Telco
industry
• Experience in sales leadership roles (financial services, banking, insurance, Telco industry will
be advantageous)
• Familiarity with the company’s industry or market
• Driver’s licence and own car would be advantageous
• Computer literate
• Ability to speak and write fluently in French & English
You will need to show that you have:
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing (English language skills would be
advantageous)
• Ability to drive sales and achieve objectives through 3rd party arrangements
• Business acumen and financial literacy
• Negotiating skills related to technical solutions, financing, terms & conditions guarantees, risk
allocation, incentives, etc.
• Planning & Organizational skills.
• Problem solving skills.
• Presentation skills.
• Resourcefulness, ability to multi-task and handle pressure
• Strong sales profile, high energy levels and a sense of urgency, driven to succeed
In addition, you will need to be able to work in a regularly changing environment, be prepared
to take on and let go of tasks and functions to meet changing company requirements.
