Union Bank of Cameroon Plc is presently in search of a Relationship Manager- SME/MFI in its head office, Douala Cameroon.

Opportunity is open for internal and external candidates.


Job Purpose:Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers with the aim of selling the Bank’s products toSmall and Medium Size and Micro Finance Institutions.


Job Title:RELATIONSHIP MANAGER – SME/MFI


Category: (To be determined based on background and experience) Reporting Line:Head, Retail Banking
Principal Responsibilities (Key tasks)


 Drive sales of the bank’s products and services to SMEs and Micro Finance Institutions


 Establish new leads, secure meetings, pitch to clients and offer banking advice


 originate commercial loans and identify cross-selling opportunities in every customer relationship


 Connect priorities & challenges to Solutions in order to create value for the bank and its customers


 Maximize account profitability by selling other products and services to thebank’s customers


 Drive collections in customer’s account which will be used for FX and other businesses.


 Identify and develop banking relationships with SME/MFI institutions
 Ensure proper documentation throughout the credit application and availment process
 Sourcing for and monitoring of customer’s tenured investment / facilities.
 Respond promptly and satisfactorily to customer’s daily request and complaints.
 Prepare weekly and monthly statistics/performance reports for management use.
 Monitoring of the customer’s main account regularly
 Reconcile all transactions on customer’s accounts where and when necessary.
 Assist with the processing of customer’s letters of credit and invisible transactions.
 Initiate and carry out recovery action on non-performing credits facilities
 Maintain database of the customers operational records including the existing and prospective customer data  Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Retail banking.
Key Performance Indicators
 Timeliness in delivering revenue generation reports
 Number of SME/MFI accounts opened
 Timeliness & effectiveness in completion of assigned tasks
 Efficiency level at executing scheduled and ad hoc assignments  Effectiveness establishment of new relationships
 Targets Assigned Vs Actual


Competencies/ Skills:


 Minimum of Master’s degree or equivalent in marketing, finance, management, or other related disciplines


 Minimum 5 years exposure in SME Relationship Management/ Marketing and Banking. Credit Experience is a plus


 Knowledge of banking internal processes and policies. A good understanding of the Financial Service Sector


 Fully bilingual: French and English, good persuasiveness and sales skills, good knowledge of Cameroon financial markets
and regulatory requirements, high level of loyalty, honesty and integrity etc
