Saint Albert Charity
(https://saintalbertcharity.org) is a non-profit registered in Cameroon since 2000 and works to curb violence against women and girls and children by changing the gender and social norms around them. We do that by using media, arts and culture, leadership development; community mobilisation; advocacy; partnership building and action oriented research.
We engage young and adult men as partners and advocates, alongside young and adult women, to challenge and transform harmful gender norms and practices. Men and women participate in comprehensive gender-based violence prevention programs and trusted community leaders are recruited to support the program as role models with an objective to challenge the social acceptance and prevalence of GBV by addressing the social norms and belief systems that underpin and drive abuse.
Our organization currently has several grants in place, with growing opportunities in the future.
We are looking for a grant manager to join our team to support ongoing projects and develop the organization through new proposals. This position should re-enforce relationships with donors, ensure that grant programs operate efficiently, ensure reporting requirements and deadlines are met, streamline grant administration, and contribute to financial management of the organization.
This important role will support the organization in its public-health mission by securing continuous funding, improving business opportunities through effective funding programs, and supporting the execution of meaningful projects.
Duties and responsibilities
Managing overall grant efforts and administration;
Documenting payments and expenditure, overseeing fund-raising, preparing progress reports, ensuring
compliance with grant regulations, and preparing financial reports;
Support development of proposal documents for new grant applications;
Liaise with funding organisations on specific grants for reporting and grant management;
Manage timelines of project deliverables, coordination information for reporting from technical teams;
Support financial management through preparing and monitoring budgets and forecasting;
Liaise with administrative team on procurement, to ensure compliance with donor rules and regulations;
Researching funding opportunities and coordinate with the senior management team on selection,
institutional capacity development plans and overall partnership development;
Provide cross-cutting support to operations as per skillset.
Knowledge and Skills
The ideal candidate for this role should have:
Experience with grant management and reporting, budgeting and accounting
Excellent organizational skills
An ability to work independently, and as part of a national team
Strong computer literacy, interest in IT and programming a plus
Knowledge of donor agencies and auditing practices
Demonstrated ability to form effective and productive relationships with stakeholder counterparts, in order
to achieve program objectives in alignment with organisational needs.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Understanding of the full-life cycle of grants and awards
Fluency in written and spoken English. Additional languages, French, an asset.
Qualifications
Degree in finance, business administration, or another relevant field
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience
At least 2 years of experience in health project management, grant management or business administration
Experience working with government-funded programs
Prior experience with international public health institutions preferred
Experience working with sub-grantees and/or local partner organizations an asset
