RECRUITMENT NOTICE OF (01) OUTREACH PROTECTION OFFICER

Main objective and tasks

Task 1:

Coordinates, manages, and supervises the outreach team and provide regular feedback to the line manager on the status of outreach performance and of implementation of activities with regard to the achievement, constraints and challenges

Task 2:

Ensures with support of data clerk team and line manager the proper collection, processing, handling, and analysis of all data related to outreach activities. Ensures a proper and timely internal and external reporting on activities and targets by using established tools and templates of INTERSOS and the partners (UNHCR and SV)

Task 3:

Undertake regular field visits to meet the outreach teams and to encounter beneficiaries and other local stakeholders.

Task 4:

Under the supervision of the line manager (Project Manager), elaborates inputs for project proposals and/or concept notes and budgets related to outreach team and community Based Protection (CBP) activities within the multi-sectorial project.

Task 5:

Ensures the accountability of all outreach operations of the project and fill in the function as INTERSOS focal point/protection committees for outreach related activities in North West and South West.

Task 6:

Monitors, evaluates, and analyze the implementation process of outreach activities with support by the partners (UNHCR and SV) and the line manager in order to come up with proposals for potential changes and improvement of operations.

Task 7:

Arranges proper archiving of all the collected information as well as that of outreach activities related documents, either in softcopy or hardcopy, to facilitate the access for the line manager and external stakeholders.

Task 8:

Ensures the ongoing analysis of the capacities and skills of the outreach team and reply to identified gaps through trainings and capacity building. Carries out any other relevant support as required by project manager

Competences

University Degree in Social Sciences or related field

Minimum 3 years relevant professional experience in the protection sector (including at least 1 year in a supervisory role);

Good leadership skills

Strong technical knowledge in general protection (i.e. protection monitoring, case management, psychosocial support activities)

Advanced computer literacy (Word, Excel, outlook)

Strong analytical and reporting skills

Strong planning and organizational skills

Respect and adherence to protection principles

Capacity to work under pressure, flexibility

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Knowledge of the South West Region of Cameroon

Languages

English is the primary working language

Knowledge of French (written and spoken) is an asset

SW pidgin an asset

Special Requirements

Residence in Buea will be considered an added advantage

Immediate availability is an asset
