The Association Camerounaise pour le Marketing Social (ACMS) is looking for candidates in the position of HTS Testing & Linkage Specialist (M/F) based in Ngaoundéré and Garoua
What do we recruiting ?
The HTS Testing & Linkage Specialist will oversee the implementation, expansion, and optimization of HIV testing and linkage to treatment services in line with national guidelines and best practices. This role involves working closely with healthcare providers, and community partners to enhance the accessibility and quality of HIV services, particularly for high-risk groups such as children, adolescents, young women, and men. They report to Integrated Service Delivery Specialist.
Kev Responsibilities:
Provide oversight and guidance in implementing the Social Network Strategy (SNS), leveraging social connections to encourage HIV testing and linkage to
care among high-risk groups.
Collaborate with community partners to implement the handshake model facilitating seamless care linkage through direct referrals and partnerships with community-based organizations (CBOs).
Oversee the training and mentoring of psychosocial testing agents (APS) on age-appropriate HIV screening and testing methods and updated HIV testing algorithms, counseling techniques, motivational counseling, and confidentiality protocols.
Conduct regular training and refresher courses for healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses, and counselors, on HIV testing methods, updated algorithms, counseling techniques, and confidentiality protocols.
Work with facility managers to optimize patient flow, ensuring all clients have access to HIV testing services as part of their routine care.
Oversee the implementation of the HTS screening tool register to enhance highyield screening and testing.
Lead the implementation of regular community outreach programs to increase awareness of HIV testing and prevention services. Coordinate with local organizations and influencers to maximize the reach and impact of these programs.
Oversee the expansion of HIV self-testing initiatives across all regions, targeting populations that may face barriers to accessing traditional testing services.
Ensure the implementation of safe and ethical index testing practices in all health facilities, providing training and supervision to staff to maintain the highest ethical standards.
Ensure the availability of all standard registers, SOPs, tools, and documents necessary for effective linkage to care at all ART clinics.
Collaborate with CBOs, satellite sites, and stand-alone laboratories to implement escorted linkage to care, ensuring that newly diagnosed individuals are supported to start ART and navigate the treatment process.
Ensure that children diagnosed with HIV are linked to additional social services based on their needs, coordinating with relevant agencies to provide comprehensive support.
Promote and support the expansion of same-day ART initiation through extended hours, ensuring that clients can begin treatment immediately after diagnosis. Work with facilities to overcome logistical challenges and streamline the initiation process.
Focus on optimizing linkage to care among men by establishing male-friendly clinics and offering extended hours for ART linkage. Tailor services to address the specific barriers that men may face in accessing care.
Qualifications and skills required:
Master’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in HIV Prevention, testing, and linkage services.
Strong knowledge of HIV testing and treatment protocols. Fluency in English and French.
