MPower Ventures, a global for-profit start-up in the energy access area (www.mpower.africa), is looking for an independent and entrepreneurial business development associate in Techiman. This is an exciting opportunity in a fascinating and rapidly growing field and in a start-up environment. The main tasks of the associate are summarized below:
● Developing growth strategies and plans
● Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients
● Increasing client base
● Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition
● Writing business proposals and negotiating with stakeholders
● Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs
● Researching business opportunities and viable income streams
● Following industry trends locally and internationally
● Drafting and reviewing contracts
● Reporting on successes and areas needing improvements
The required skills and experience are summarized below:
● First professional experience in business development, sales or related fields either in Cameroon or in another African market
● A MSc or MA in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Finance or any relevant field is desired with a passion for clean energy
● Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in French and English
● Team player and eager to learn new tools and roll-up sleeves to get the job done
● Entrepreneurial and creative mindset
● Understanding of the factors driving consumption of solar or similar products
● Additional languages are a plus.
