Operations Manager

Yara is the world’s leading mineral fertilizer company with a truly global presence and with leading positions in ammonia, nitrates, NPK and specialty fertilizers.  Yara Cameroon was established in 1995 to strengthen the quality and depth of input supply and related services along agricultural value chains to increase the productivity of Cameroonians farmers.  

Yara Cameroon is looking for an Operations Manager to join it’s dynamic team.  The position will be based in Douala  and will report to the Regional Operations Manager BU Africa.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, monitor and control fixed costs, variable costs and capital investment budget
• Develop comprehensive business case for all CAPEX needed for the site
• In collaboration with the Regional Operations Manager, execute the annual business plan related to operations processes 
• Sets the associated improvement plans with the Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, six sigma …) and leads the field.
• Plan and execute imports of fertilizers in line with Yara Global Planning Process
• Develops and leads the preventive maintenance plan
• Build and maintain collaborative relations with stakeholders
• Implement and review compliance within Yara standards and product stewardship requirements
• Implement safe by choice initiative by ensuring all processes within the terminal adhere to HESQ

Profile

·Relevant management experience in a chemical/FMCG production environment·7 years professional experience including several years in Operations and Factory management ·Understanding and knowledge of the production process and engineering discipline·Understanding and knowledge of HESQ and related regulatory requirements·Fair understanding of the Human Resources discipline to support people management function·Master’s Degree in Engineering
