Information System Auditor

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL VACANCY

Union Bank of Cameroon Plc is presently in search of an Information System Auditor in its head office, Douala – Cameroon. Opportunity is open for both internal and external candidates
Job Purpose: Carry out information system review where major potential information system risks are identified, Carry out independent assessment of the effectiveness of information system risk management process and practice, Provide timely objective assurance on information risk control, Conduct spot checks when necessary, Carry out other duties that may be assigned (follow up, investigations…)

Responsibilities: Reports to the Head Internal Auditor

JOB PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABLILITIES

(Key tasks and additional activities)

-Carry out audit plan in IT areas
– Apply IS audit program and checklist in line with COBAC regulation and best practices
-Plan and execute risk based audit on the IT structure and various systems:
– Business application deployed in the bank (management and survey)
 Database (structure consistency, back up principle, access management and traceability)
 Networks and telecoms (traffic efficiency and security against external attacks)
 Operating system (feasibility of services costing, interests structure calculation, segregation of duties
principle) etc.
 Monitoring and reporting on key risk issues:
 Carry out ad hoc reviews of critical business applications and processes
 Review compliance with any regulation impacting the information structure:
 Perform periodic IS risk assessment
 Assist IT department in the resolution of issues related to the Core banking system (FINACLE)
 Review of pricing, collection of commissions, fees and interests
 Review and evaluation of new technology products/services and associated risks
 Independent participation in the review and evaluation of technology projects
 Issue final report and share audit findings and recommendations for corrective actions with management
 Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the Head of internal audit

 Sensitize staffs regularly to the need to adhere to policies
 Finance
 Reduction in prudential provision on other assets
 Volume of repeated occurrence of audit and regulatory examiners exception/issues
 Quantum of undetected operational lapses and processing errors
 Internal and external interaction: ensure timely rendition of reports to management, BOD audit committee…
