Job Description:
The Architect will be responsible for designing and reviewing the construction of the cement
grinding plant and offices. The architect will plan new buildings, extensions or modifications
to existing structures, and advise on the refurbishment and conservation of old properties.
Duties and Responsibilities (Not Exhaustive):
• Create architectural designs for the plant and office buildings while ensuring they
comply with safety standards and local planning regulations;
• Regularly adjust architectural designs and plans to meet company’s needs, budgets and
deadlines;
• Assist in obtaining building permits and necessary documents for the construction
process;
• Interpret construction drawings to contractors and management and demonstrate how
they will be organized and built;
• Specify the nature and quality of materials required for the buildings;
• Study applicable standards or specifications prior to execution and communicate to
contractors and construction workers;
• Monitor construction activities to ensure that all construction work is done in
accordance with the approved construction drawings, contract documents, project
specifications, and all applicable standards whether local, national, or international
standards;
• Regularly visit the construction site to inspect progress of work from start to finish in
collaboration with civil engineers;
Skills
• Excellent design and technical drawing skills;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and software programs such as Computer-Aided Design
(Cad) and Revit;
• High levels of creativity and imagination and the ability to work in three dimensions
(3d);
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
• Understand safety measures in a construction plant;
• Good communication skills and team spirit;
• Fluent in spoken and written English and German and a working knowledge in
French;
Qualification:
• A Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
Experience:
• At least 5 – 10 years’ experience of practice in the architectural field.
