Job Description

Reports to (position):Respectively to  CBT Project Coordinators Maroua, Gado and Batouri
Purpose:  How does this post support Plan’s strategy and mission?The project is about The project is about Saving lives through coordinated and integrated inclusive cash assistance for refugees in Lolo, Timangolo, Gari Singho and Gado, Garoua Boulai in both Kadey and Lom et Djerem Divisions affected by the Central African crisis.  This program will be implemented with financial and technical the support of Word Food Program and Plan Canada.The project’s falls into CP 25 and 27 related health and protection activities.

Dimensions of Role:

This project will target 87.200 Refugees from the sites of Lolo, Timangolo, Gari singho and Gado. And Garoua Boulai.

It is estimated that 780 644 505 cfa will be distributed during the6 months project’s duration.

Il the long run we may need more people for the implementation of the project. More successful candidates should be retain in a waiting list so as to fill the gap as need arises.

Typical Responsibilities – Key End Results of Position:

The Field Agent will among many other tasks perform the following:

  • Ensure all logistics and related activities are prepared accordingly and submit monthly and bi-weekly plans
  • Ensure effective and efficient distribution of cash transfer to beneficiaries.
  • Ensure and organize door to door sensitization on ENA(Essential Nutrition Actions) with emphasis on food diversification in the household and distribution of food taking into consideration the specific need of vulnerable people(Children and women) and promote good hygiene and sanitation practices.
  • Ensure and organize home visit to follow up and ensure that all the purpose of the complaint mechanism is being achieved and enabling decision-making on the project progression and development.
  • Draft regular implementation plan for project reports and assist in the preparation of project monthly reports.
  • Ensure transfer and food supply tracking and reporting
  • Contribute to  Nutrition assessment operations  in implementing zones
  • Elaborate and submit monthly reports on achievement

Dealing with Problems:

The holder of the position has no authorization and will liaise with M&E Assistant and Project Coordinator for all related finance and administrative procedures under the leadership of PUM.  But his proactveness will be key in planning and implementation of activities in the field.

Communications and Working Relationships:

The Field Agent should maintain a good collaboration and communication with beneficiaries, complain committee as well as with other actors in the zone.

Knowledge, Skills, Behaviors, and Experience Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives:

  • Work experience in  household economy
  • Experience of working in zones where security issues is a concern preferably in an emergency situation
  • Experience in community mobilization and sensitization
  • Holder of an Ordinary level certificate or equivalent certificate on Household economy
  • Extensive knowledge of emergency nutrition work
  • Ability to speak, read and write French or English ,speak Fulfulde,Mafa,Mandara ,Kotoko,Arabic fluently depending the project’s location and proven ability and willingness to learn other local languages

Physical Environment and Demands:

Ability to work under pressure and in remote area and in zones were security issues is a concern.

Purpose:  How does this post support Plan’s strategy and mission?Responsible for driving Plan’s staff, goods and materials to and from the Country Office and Program Unit towards implementation of the Country’s program.

Dimensions of Role:

Financial measures or statistics relevant to post such as budget; list of direct and indirect reports

  • Area of Responsibility – Country Office or Program Unit depending of driver allocation

Typical Responsibilities – Key End Results of Position:

“What” is done and “why”, but not “how”; include indicators for success

  • Drive professionally and defensively to ensure safety and protection of staff at all times without any incidents of accidents or injuries,
  • Ensure vehicle is maintained as per the maintenance schedule of the vehicle to enhance longevity of vehicle with no reports of frequent breakdowns or malfunctioning of vehicle,
  • Ensure that vehicle movement and mileage are duly recorded in the vehicle’s logbook to keep and track vehicle movement without any reports of carjacking,
  • Ensure that the vehicle is always cleaned to enhance its state and notify Administrative Coordinator at least 2 months before the expiry date of the vehicles documents (insurance/road worthiness certificate etc) for renewal without any queries from the MTTU/Police,
  • Dispatch local mail to addressees, keep and maintain communication with our clients without any reports of missing mails,
  • Comply with Plan’s Child Protection Policy at all times to safeguard and protect the child at all times without any reports or incidents of child abuse,
  • Comply with Plan’s Fraud Policy at all times to safeguard and protect Plan’s assets and reputation of honesty,
  • Perform any other duties to be assigned to support the attainment of organizational goals.

Complexity of problems handled & the degree of investigation, analysis, & creative thinking required to solve them

This includes how much freedom the position has to make decisions; for example, “may approve invoices up to $1,000.”

  • Observe, anticipate and  drive defensively to safeguard life and property  always,

  • In case of accident, make sure a Police report is made before moving,
  • Works with minimum supervision.

Gained through education, training, & experience

Qualification and Experience

– GCE O level/SSS

– At least 5 years driving experience in the formal sector

– Valid driving license with at least class B

– At least 5 years experience in the formal sector.

– Experience in the NGO sector preferably with child-related development issues, would be an advantage

This position entails 70% travelling time within Plan offices and communities in the Program Units with 30% of the time on office related activities.

High level:        Frequent interaction with children

Mid contact- the job responsibilities of this position require the post holder to have occasional one-to-one contact with children and it is expected that children shall be protected at all times.

Objectives of the internship.
To provide support services to the BMZ project team in the office and on the field.
To gain experience and improves his/her skills as far as project management is concern to be better prepared for the job market.
To give the intern the opportunity to show case and put in practice the knowledge gotten in school.
Dimensions of the Role

Under the supervision of the project coordinator, the intern will have a role:

Participate in the different training organise by the project and at the level of PU.

Participate in the implementation of project activities.

Follow the reception of materials and dispatching to the implementation zone.

Assist in the identification of IGA/ Vocational training beneficiaries.

Drafting and consolidating activity reports

Field Data collection and introduction in to the statistic sheet.

Assist in the preparation of project requisitions, photocopying and scanning of documents.

Elaboration of monthly reports and reports of meetings organise by the project team.

Participating in coaching and mentoring sessions with the Project Coordinator

Key relationships

  • Keeps and maintain high contact with Project Coordinators, project Officers, field staffs, children and families
  • Maintains high contact with local partners as needed arises.

 

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge required to achieve role
Be a holder of at least Advance level or BAC.

Knowledge of written and spoken French language, with knowledge of the English language being and added advantage.

Good communication skills (written and verbal) and team spirit>

Have a good knowledge on information and technology skills.

Have good innovative leadership skills, is proactive and can work under pressure.
