A Direct Sales Agent (DSA) in PECCU COOP-BOD is primarily responsible for the outreach, marketing, and acquisition of new clients for the PECCU’s products, especially deposits, loans, and other financial services. The DSA spends most of their time in the field, engaging directly with potential clients in their communities or workplaces.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

The duties of a Direct Sales Agent in PECCU focus heavily on hitting aggressive sales targets and expanding the PECCU’s client base:
I. Sales and Client Acquisition
● Lead Generation and Prospecting: Actively seek out and identify potential customers in target markets, often through door-to-door sales, field visits, community drives, workplace campaigns, and referrals.
● Product Promotion: Present, promote, and sell the PECCU’s specific products : deposit accounts, loans, digital banking apps) to prospective clients.
● Customer Education: Clearly explain the features, benefits, terms, and conditions of the PECCU’s financial products, ensuring clients understand their repayment obligations and the value of savings.
● Account Opening and Loan Applications: Guide new clients through the complete account opening process and assist them in accurately completing loan application forms, collecting necessary documentation.
● Achieve Sales Targets: Meet or exceed agreed-upon weekly and monthly targets (Key Performance Indicators – KPIs) for new accounts opened, deposit mobilization, and loan disbursements.

II. Market Intelligence and Relationship Management
● Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with new and existing clients to encourage long-term business and generate referrals.
● Market Feedback: Gather and report market intelligence, customer feedback, and information on competitor activities to the Commercial and marketing Team Lead to help refine product offerings and marketing strategies.
● Brand Representation: Act as a professional and positive ambassador for PECCU in the community at all times.
III. Compliance and Reporting

● Documentation Integrity: Ensure all application forms and required documents comply strictly with the MFI’s policies, especially Know Your Customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering regulations.
● Sales Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate and timely daily, weekly, and monthly sales activity reports, sales forecasts, and progress updates to the supervisor.
● Follow-up: Follow up on leads and client applications to ensure they are processed efficiently by the branch team.

Qualifications and Skills

● Education: Typically requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
● Experience: Previous experience (often 1-3 years) in direct sales, field marketing, or a customer-facing role, preferably in the banking, microfinance, insurance, or telecommunications sectors.
● Core Skills & Attributes:
○ Strong Sales and Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to persuade, overcome objections, and close sales effectively.
○ Target-Driven: Highly motivated, self-starter, and focused on achieving and exceeding performance goals.
○ Communication: Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, often including fluency in English and French.
○ Community Networking: Must be able to easily establish rapport and strong networks within the community or designated territory.
○ Integrity: High level of honesty and ethical conduct, especially when handling client information and funds.
○ Mobility: Must be willing and able to spend significant time in the field, traveling to meet clients.
○ Digital marketing: Using platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok to build brand awareness, engage with the community, and drive traffic.
