Key Accountabilities
Under the direct supervision of the IT Operations Officer and overall guidance of the Head of TEC, the incumbent will:
1. IT Service Desk & User Support
Act as the first point of contact for user support queries, resolving or escalating incidents according to WFP service management processes.
Provide timely technical support to ensure the functionality of desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and video conferencing equipment.
Log all incidents and service requests in WFP’s corporate ticketing system (EasyVista) and follow up until resolution.
2. IT Infrastructure Support
Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment, including hardware and software.
Monitor and support the Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), wireless networks, and internet connectivity.
Provide support for WFP corporate applications including Microsoft 365, SCOPE, WINGS/SAP, COMET, and e-mail systems.
3. IT Asset Management
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all IT assets in the corporate inventory management system (GEMS).
Support the tagging, deployment, transfer, and disposal of ICT equipment in compliance with WFP guidelines and audit requirements.
Assist with physical inventory verifications and reconciliation.
4. Training & Documentation
Provide basic ICT training and orientation to staff on WFP systems, security awareness, and tools.
Assist in drafting and maintaining technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user guides.
5. Compliance and Cybersecurity
Ensure adherence to WFP IT policies and procedures including data protection, information security, and acceptable use of ICT resources.
Report and support investigation of cybersecurity incidents or breaches.
6. Other Duties
Provide technical support during WFP events, meetings, and workshops.
Perform any other duties as required.
4. Standard Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Completion of secondary school education.
A post-secondary certificate or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A university degree is an asset.
Experience:
At least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in IT support, helpdesk operations, network administration, or related areas.
Experience working in UN agencies, NGOs, or international organizations is an advantage.
Familiarity with WFP applications (SCOPE, WINGS, COMET) is an asset.
Language:
Fluency (level C) in both English and French language.
