Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Associate based in Douala, in charge of the rail-road project and operations management in Ngaoundere, the incumbent will have the following duties and responsibilities:

1.    Monitor the implementation of logistics operations and activities in accordance with WFP standard procedures.
2.    To ensure effective control of food reception, storage and loading operations in accordance with the required official documents (reception slip, waybills, loss certificate, etc.).
3.    To ensure general supervision of the full use of the WFP information system at all stages of the supply chain from the unloading of foodstuffs, storage to loading at destinations, guaranteeing the quality of the system’s data;
4.    Ensure that all transactions posted to the system are carried out in accordance with standard procedures, in line with supporting documents and in accordance with WFP guidelines.
5.    Maintain a filing system for all supporting documents relating to warehouse operations.

6.    Regularly analyse transactions and data relating to the receipt of foodstuffs in the warehouse, the placing in stock, repackaging, re-packaging, change of status, destruction/donation and dispatch of foodstuffs to destinations.
7.    Working closely with colleagues in charge of transport, ensure that transactions relating to the movement of foodstuffs are recorded on time.

8.    Share details of shipments with recipient countries on a daily basis, using the appropriate format validated with the direct supervisor.
9.    Participate in monthly physical inventories and reconciliations after counts.
10.    Thoroughly check and produce justifications for any discrepancies between the system stock and the stock reports in the warehouse in order to maintain reconciliations and regularisations in the stock.
11.    To produce daily reports on the stock in shop and to alert the supervisor to items with expiry dates, funding expiry dates or any other critical stock information.
12.    Carry out daily shop and stock inspections at the beginning and end of the day and report findings in accordance with the existing format with the direct supervisor.
13.    On a monthly basis, prepare a report of losses incurred in the shop and share it with the direct supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

Education: Bachelors or equivalent in management, logistics, IT management or statistics.

Experience: At least three (03) years’ professional experience in logistics. Experience in the United Nations system and in NGOs would be an asset.

Competences: Be physically fit; Have a good knowledge of computers (mastery of common software: word processing, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, Internet); Have a team spirit and public relations; Be of good character and have a sense of transparency and rigor in management. A good knowledge of database management would be an asset.

Language: Excellent command of French and good knowledge of English. Good knowledge of local languages.
