JOB DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 To manage and control branch operations to ensure quality in service delivery in an effective and efficient manner where all risks are adequately controlled for assurance of minimum operational losses and that costs are well managed for effective utilization with available resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 To further manage and deliver deposits, loans, customer service and efficiency targets of the branch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ke<\/strong>y Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Operational Risk Management and Control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Ensure proper control and efficiency of the branch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Supervise  work  delegated  to  subordinate  staff  and  authorize  all  source  documents  for transactions generated by the branch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Perform all stipulated control steps to enhance operational efficiency e.g. Call-over of source documents, departmental proofs and reconciliations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Confirm that all compliance requirements are adhered to e.g. COBAC regulatory and statutory guidelines including anti money laundering policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Ensure observation of the control environment vis-\u00e0-vis the Control & Administrative Policies, and Procedures and Processes Compliance Manuals to avoid fraud and financial losses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Implement and ensure compliance of the continuity of business and disaster recovery plan by all branch staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Ensure adequate segregation of duties in order to prevent conflict of interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Provide the Head of Operations and the Branch Manager with timely, relevant and accurate reports on the implementation of the business objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Provide information for investigations and handle fraudulent cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Service Quality<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Set and monitor Branch Service Standards based on service quality benchmarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Monitor and manage the delivery of high service quality to customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Maintain good appearance of branch facilities and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Track service performance regularly and rectify any deficiencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Attend to and resolve customer\u2019s complaints or feedback within prescribed standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

H<\/strong>u<\/strong>ma<\/strong>n Resources Management & Training<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Improve staff quality and develop their potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Disseminate institutional objectives and branch targets set by top management to all branch staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Ensure job rotation and on-the-job training to enhance staff skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Carry  out  staff  performance  appraisal  to  monitor  performance  and  highlight  areas  for development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Support Roles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Provide efficient operational support to all business units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Provide account information and maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qu<\/strong>a<\/strong>l<\/strong>i<\/strong>fication:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holder of at least a 1st degree (or its equivalent) in Accounting, banking, finance or at least an equivalent professional qualification in accounting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Minimum 3 years microfinance\/banking experience in similar or related role. E.g. Branch operations manager, customer service manager, Head Teller, Funds Transfer supervisor, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Sound knowledge of microfinance and banking laws and principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Developed management and office administration skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Competence in financial accounting\/forecasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Very Strong leadership skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Ability to plan daily\/periodic operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Strong interpersonal\/ oral and written communication skills<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Knowledge of computer processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Familiar with banking applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Adequate knowledge of operational policies, procedures and processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Strong ability to strike a balance between customer\u2019s needs\/requests and the institution\u2019s rules, policies, and\/or procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Bilingual in French and English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Strong reporting and analytical skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Strong ability to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
