Missions and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Conduct protection monitoring activities at household and community level using various quantitative and qualitative methods and tools.<\/p>\n
Identify key informants within the community to involve in regular protection monitoring activities through individual interviews.<\/p>\n
Facilitate Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) amongst community members on protection to better understand the protection issues affecting the communities.<\/p>\n
In coordination with the team leader, identify Focal points within the community and liaise with them to collect information on population movements and protection incidents within their areas of intervention; implement a functional flash alert mechanism between Focal Points and the Field Monitors.<\/p>\n
Train Focal Points, local authorities and protection committees on general protection, CP, SGBV, Human Rights, Humanitarian Principles and other topics that maybe identified.<\/p>\n
Monitor and report protection incidents and trends, population movements and produce Maps on the zones of displacement and intervention within their field locations.<\/p>\n
Identify individual cases with protection concerns during protection monitoring and outreach activities and liaise with the social worker to deliberate on the appropriate intervention.<\/p>\n
Verify the information collected through direct observation and triangulation from different sources.<\/p>\n
Support the Team Leader in developing weekly report.<\/p>\n
Map out and regularly update service providers within the field locations highlighting the gaps to support advocacy through the protection cluster.<\/p>\n
Carry out all tasks respecting key protection principles including but not limited to: – do no harm, non-discrimination, confidentiality, accountability and need-to-know principles.<\/p>\n
Actively participate in community awareness activities.<\/p>\n
Verify and register flash alerts reports identified within their field locations and share in a timely manner with the Field Coordinator, and the team leader.<\/p>\n
Establish and maintain a good relationship respecting and guided by humanitarian. principles with local, administrative, customary and community leaders in his\/her area.<\/p>\n
Participate actively in the weekly meetings.<\/p>\n
Any other task that may be assigned by the supervisor.<\/p>\n
Competences<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
University training in Social Sciences or related field<\/p>\n
Minimum 12 months relevant professional experience in the protection sector<\/p>\n
Technical knowledge in general protection ;<\/p>\n
Advanced computer literacy (Word, Excel, outlook)<\/p>\n
Good analytical and reporting skills<\/p>\n
Good planning and organizational skills<\/p>\n
Respect and adherence to protection principles<\/p>\n
Capacity to work under pressure, flexibility<\/p>\n
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills<\/p>\n
Knowledge of the South West and North West Region of Cameroon<\/p>\n
Experience in community mobilization<\/p>\n
Languages<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
English is the primary working language<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Knowledge of French (written and spoken) is an asset<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
SW pidgin an asset<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Special Requirements<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Residence in Buea \/ Mamfe will be considered an added advantage<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
