\nCONSULTANT TO DEVELOP A MASSIVE OPEN ONLINE
\nCOURSE FOR THE AFRICA YOUTH TRANSFORMATIONAL
\nLEADERSHIP PROGRAMME<\/p>\n

\nbuilding of a critical mass of youth in Africa to equip them will key skills and competencies that
\nwill help them to become transformational leaders that will drive the desired change for Africa.<\/p>\n
2.0 Objectives of the Consultancy<\/p>\n
The main objective of the consultancy is to develop a MOOC for the Africa Youth
\nTransformational Leadership Programme (AYTLP) that will help to build the capacity of youth leaders on critical aspects that will enable to them have the capacity to contribute to the
\ndevelopment of green economies and sustainable development in Africa. This will be guided by
\nthe key strategic pillars of intervention under the AYTLP\u2019s theory of change (ToC) that include
\nAdvancing Policy, Capacity Building, Sustainable \/ Green Entrepreneurship and Networking
\nPlatforms.<\/p>\n
2.1 Specific Objectives<\/p>\n
Specific objectives of the consultancy include:<\/p>\n
i) Design curriculum content based on the four pillars of the AYTLP to include Advancing
\nPolicy, Capacity Building, Sustainable \/ Green Entrepreneurship and Networking
\nPlatforms that will help the youth develop core competencies to engage and contribute to
\ngreen economies and sustainable development in Africa.<\/p>\n
ii) Design curriculum content that demonstrates the mainstreaming of Education for
\nSustainable Development (ESD) methodologies and competencies to support the delivery
\nof the training outcomes.<\/p>\n
iii) Design a curriculum content that demonstrates the mainstreaming of key crosscutting
\nissues and themes to include gender, Human Rights Based Approaches (HRBA) and
\nEnvironmental and Social Safeguards.<\/p>\n
iv) Develop multimedia content (videos and infographics) with insights from the target
\naudience (youth organisations and networks in Africa) and in consultation with WWF
\nexisting youth programmes in Africa.<\/p>\n
v) Design and build an interactive digital course that incorporates the curriculum content
\ndeveloped comprising of the four pillars of the AYTLP and mainstreams key
\ncompetencies described to include ESD approaches, gender, HRBA and Environmental
\nand Social Safeguards.<\/p>\n
3.0 Methodology<\/p>\n
The assignment will involve a desktop study that will research on relevant training content from
\na wide range of relevant resources to design curriculum content. The process will involve
\nconducting interview with the target audience (youth organisations and networks) and
\nconsultations with stakeholders engaged in implementing youth programmes to include but not limited to WWF. Video shoots of good practices will be taken in select landscapes to include 3 design of infographics to ensure an interactive digital platform with relevant and strategic content is developed.<\/p>\n
4.0 Scope<\/p>\n
The scope of work will involve researching on relevant curriculum content and designing a
\ncurriculum guided by the four pillars of the AYTLP to include Advancing Policy, Capacity
\nBuilding, Green\/ Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Networking Platforms that mainstreams key cross-cutting themes to include ESD, gender, HRBA and Environmental and Social Safeguards.<\/p>\n
Relevant video content and infographics will be incorporated to ensure an interactive digital
\nMOOC is be developed can be tested and transferred for hosting on the WWF website.<\/p>\n
5.0 Deliverables and Requirements<\/p>\n
i) Two hard copies in MS Word of the MOOC curriculum content.
\nii) Two soft disk copies of the MOOC curriculum content.
\niii) An accessible licensed link of the MOOC that is interactive with a guarantee
\nperiod of not less than one year.
\niv) Work with WWF IT and Communications team to set up the MOOC on a
\ndesignated WWF Office website.<\/p>\n
6.0 Time Frame<\/p>\n
The assignment components will be conducted in phased- out periods not exceeding 60
\ndays.<\/p>\n
7.0 Qualifications of Consultancy Team:<\/p>\n
The assignment will require a team of consultants that have the following skill sets:
\n\uf0b7 An advanced university degree in leadership, management, conservation, environment,
\ndevelopment, learning for sustainability and communications.
\n\uf0b7 Minimum of 8 years experience in related field with emphasis in management,
\nenvironment, development, conservation and learning for sustainability.
\n\uf0b7 Ability to conceptualize sustainable development concerns with a demonstrated capacity
\nto communicate conservation, socio-economic issues and sustainability.
\n\uf0b7 Ability to develop curriculum content using pedagogic approaches that demonstrate key
\ncompetencies like ESD, gender, HRBA and environment and social safeguards.
\n\uf0b7 Ability to develop media content with exemplary editing skills.
\n\uf0b7 Demonstrated experience of having developed interactive digital online courses.
\n\uf0b7 Excellent communication and written skills in English.
\n\uf0b7 Demonstrable track record of undertaking similar assignments in a regional context.

8.0 Expression of Interest

\ni) A technical proposal highlighting how they will carry out their work and detailed
\ncurriculum vitae
