In Cameroon, we work with different international partners such as the United Nations, Bilateral Donors and INGOs to seek sustainable solutions to development and humanitarian challenges.<br>\u00a0<br>I. Project context<br>The KOICA Phase Il project, funded by the Korea nternational Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and implemented in partnership with UNICEF and other stakeholders, aims to strengthen local governance systems and improve access to essential services for vulnerable populations.<br>The project focuses on enhancing education, child protection, WASH services and social services in the East Region of Cameroon, particularly in Lom and Djerem and Kadey Divisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the framework of this partnership, Good Neighbors Cameroon (GNCMR) is recruiting a qualified and motivated Protection Officer to support the implementation of child protection activities in the project areas.<br>2.\u00a0 \u00a0 Role Purpose<br>Working in 51 countries across the world, GNCMR aims to reach marginalized children and communities through high-quality programs that offer sustainable benefits and improved livelihoods. As a key member of the Good Neighbors Cameroon humanitarian team, the Child<br>\u00a0<br>Protection Officer is responsible for ensuring that the rights of the most vulnerable children in the East Region are protected in line with the project. The officer will lead interventions to prevent and respond to abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence against children, focusing on both refugee and host community populations. The goal is to build a protective environment where children can thrive, ensuring that child protection is mainstreamed across all other project sectors.<br>\u00a0<br>3.\u00a0 \u00a0 Key Responsibilities:<br>Child Protection Program Implementation<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Support the implementation of child protection activities in targeted communities.<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Identify vulnerable children and families in need of protection services.\u00a0 \u00a0Support the establishment and strengthening of community child protection committees.<br>Case Management<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Conduct case assessments for vulnerable children.<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Develop and follow up individual case management plans.<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Refer children and families to appropriate social services and protection mechanisms.<br>Community Awareness and Prevention<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Facilitate community awareness sessions on child protection, birth registration, child rights and prevention of violence against children.<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Promote safe and protective environments for children in communities and schools.<br>Coordination and Referral Mechanisms<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Coordinate with local authorities, social services, health services and education authorities.<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Strengthen referral pathways for vulnerable children.<br>Monitoring and Reporting<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Maintain confidential case management records.<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Support monitoring and evaluation activities related to child protection.\u00a0 \u00a0Prepare regular weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.<br>Representation and Coordination\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Represent Good Neighbors Cameroon in relevant protection coordination meetings.<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Work closely with UNICEF, municipalities and community stakeholders.<br>\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>4.\u00a0 \u00a0 Required Oualifications<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Master&rsquo;s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, International Law, or Human Rights.<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Minimum 5 years of experience in child protection programming in humanitarian or development settings in Cameroon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0Experience working with the Ministry of Social Affairs (MINAS) and Ministry of Women&rsquo;s Empowerment and the Family (MINPROFF)<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Experience working with UNICEF or other UN agencies as an implementing partner is highly preferred.<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Deep knowledge of the Cameroonian Civil Status legislation, and international standards like the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Demonstrated experience in Social and Behavior Change (SBC), specifically in facilitating sensitive intergenerational dialogues with traditional and religious leaders to challenge harmful norms<br>\u00a0 Proficiency in child protection case management and the provision of Psychosocial Support for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) or early marriage.<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Experience in managing vocational training programs, scholarship schemes, and the distribution of kits for at-risk adolescents.<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Expertise in child protection system strengthening including structuring and empowering Community-Based Child Protection Mechanisms to ensure sustainability after project closure<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Experience working in a similar context or with similar stakeholders (government, communities, etc.)<br>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Must be ready and available to travel in places that the project is being implemented.\u00a0 \u00a0Strong commitment to child-led participation and strict adherence to PSEA and Child Safeguarding policies.<br>Required skills<br>Good interpersonal, communication, networking and coordination skills<br>Commitment to child protection, gender equality and participation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good computer skills (Microsoft Words, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer) Positive team player with a great attitude<br>Fluency in French, working knowledge in English.
