The incumbent will participate in collaborative meetings with multi-lateral and bi-lateral international partners to strengthen aggregate reporting, individual medical records, and laboratory information systems. The Data Analyst reports to the Supervisory Public Health Specialist (Strategic Information\/SI) Team Lead and will provide assistance to the CDC country office and President\u2019s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) interagency team to improve quality of data collected and its analysis and use to inform PEPFAR programmatic direction and investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key responsibilities include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>Providing data analysis support for clinical program areas such as HIV prevention, adult care and treatment, maternal and child health, and tuberculosis.\n\nHelping strengthen the country\u2019s ability to use data for program planning, setting targets, and making decisions.\n\nAssisting implementing partners with data entry into various databases and ensuring data quality standards are met.\n\nSupporting program monitoring activities, including site visits and data quality assessments.\n\nAnalyzing surveillance data, including population-based surveys, and generating geospatial information to help prioritize program spending and identify gaps.\n\nPreparing abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations for conferences and meetings.\n\nContributing to the development of work plans and supporting program collaborators to ensure consistency with reporting policies and timelines.\n\nParticipating in interagency technical working group meetings and national committees as assigned.<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on public health programs and work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals and partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Qualifications and Evaluations<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a: \n\n\n    Security certificate; or \n\n    Public Trust - background investigation security clearance. \n\n\nAll selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam. \nSelected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time upon receipt of agency authorization and\/or clearances\/certifications or their candidacy may end.<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Education Requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>Master of Science in Statistics, Public Health, Bio-informatics, or Health Information Management is required.<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Evaluations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>You will be evaluated against the qualifications and requirements in this vacancy announcement. \nYou may be asked to complete a pre-employment language or skills test.\nYou must complete the application form and provide the required documents. A detailed knowledge of the range of prevention programs, policies, regulations and precedents applicable to development and administration of national\/international public health prevention testing, counseling and linkage programs is required. Good working knowledge of program management in support of contracts \/ cooperative agreements \/ grants is required. Thorough public health knowledge of current HIV\/AIDS issues is required. Detailed knowledge of the host government health care system and structures, including familiarity with MOH policies, program priorities and regulations is required. Up-to-date knowledge on epidemiology\/statistics, project data and uses of PEPFAR tools, such as DATIM and PANORAMA, for the Project's performance reporting is required. Excellent quantitative skills to be able to understand data quality, analysis and interpretation.\n\nSkills And Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with national and international health partners are required. Ability to prioritize between competing demands and work with minimal supervision within strict deadlines. Good working knowledge of overall administrative requirements, budgeting and fiscal management in support of contracts, cooperative agreements and grants is required.
