Missions and Responsibilities
General objective
S\/he is responsible for the collection of protection data and for the overall monitoring of the protection context in the assigned area. Contribute to the design of methodology and analysis and liaise directly with affected communities.
S\/he identifies individuals at risk through household level assessments or individual interviews and provides them with orientation on available services or refers those with specific protection concerns as required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Specific tasks:
\u2022 Conduct protection monitoring activities at household and community level using different quantitative and qualitative tools
\u2022 Identify key informants and household surveys in the community to involve in regular protection monitoring activities through semi-structured or unstructured interviews (KIIs) (HH).
\u2022 Facilitate Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) amongst community members on selected topics to better understand the causes and consequences of identified risks
\u2022 Monitor and report protection concern and trends, new population displacements and movements in the areas of operations
\u2022 Report to the Protection Monitor Team Leader any serious protection incidents or immediate protection concern identified within target communities
\u2022 Identify individual cases with protection concerns during data collection for referral to internal services or specialized agencies
\u2022 Verify collected information on protection risks as well as availability and access to services through direct observation of the area
\u2022 Support the Protection Monitor Team Leader in reporting qualitative and quantitative data and information
\u2022 Map main service providers in the area of intervention and identify and report gaps in the availability of services and quality of service provision
\u2022 Carry out all tasks respecting key protection principles including but not limited to: do no harm, non-discrimination, confidentiality, accountability and need-to-know principles
Support sensitization, information dissemination and awareness raising activities.
Job Requirements
Education
\u25aa University degree in social sciences or related field e.g. Social Work, Psychology or equivalent is an asset
\u25aa Training in humanitarian protection thematics such as community-based protection, survival centered-case management, PSEA, GBV and Child protection will be an asset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Experience
\u2022 Minimum of 1 year of experience in a humanitarian context, in an association, NGO or INGO, with at least 1 year of field work experience in the NW or SW regions during the context of crisis
\u2022 Experience working and \/ or collaborating on a UNCHR project would be an asset
\u2022 Working experience with Intersos within the year 2025
\u2022 Previous working experience with IDPs, refugees and returnees
Language
\u2022 Fluency in both written and oral formal English
\u2022 Strong redactional skills in English
\u2022 Capacity to make strong oral and written presentations and to express and elaborate on ideas.
\u2022 Teamwork and communication skills
\u2022 Fluency in Pidgin English<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Knowledge
