\nWe are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and technically proficient candidate to join our
\nteam as an IT & Data Security Assistant.
\nPosition Summary
\nThe IT & Data Security Assistant will be responsible for the essential IT and logistics support
\nfunctions of our operations, ensuring strict compliance with EVIHDAF policies, procedures,
\nand specific donor rules and regulations. The role is critical for maintaining robust security
\nand efficient, accountable use of resources across the organization.
\nThis position requires familiarity with emerging technologies, particularly Artificial
\nIntelligence (AI), to ensure our systems and data infrastructure are prepared for future
\nintegration and security challenges related to AI-driven tools.

\nCore Responsibilities
\nThe selected candidate will manage and execute tasks across four key areas:
\na) IT Infrastructure & Support (40%)
\n\u2022 Install, configure, and maintain software, operating systems, and specialized digital
\ntools.
\n\u2022 Manage, update, and maintain company IT assets (laptops, tablets, audio\/video
\ndevices, etc.).
\n\u2022 Provide timely and effective technical support to staff and manage all helpdesk
\nrequests.
\n\u2022 Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of internet and telephone systems.
\n\u2022 Maintain a detailed inventory of hardware devices, track ownership, and manage the
\nreplacement of obsolete equipment.
\n\u2022 Provide training to staff on digital literacy and secure IT practices, including the
\nresponsible and secure use of AI tools in the workplace.
\n\u2022 Develop and manage shared documents, websites, and workflows using SharePoint.
\n\u2022 Provide essential administrative IT support (e.g., on printers\/copiers, data entry).
\nb) Data Security & Protection (25%)
\n\u2022 Support the implementation and adherence to comprehensive IT security and data
\nprotection policies.
\n\u2022 Proactively monitor organizational systems for vulnerabilities, security incidents, and
\nabnormal behavior\/intrusions.
\n\u2022 Manage full lifecycle data backup and restoration procedures to ensure business
\ncontinuity and recovery from data loss.
\n\u2022 Implement security tools, including antivirus, firewall, and endpoint protection, across
\nall workstations.
\n\u2022 Conduct awareness campaigns for users on security best practices (e.g., strong
\npasswords, phishing recognition, secure data sharing).
\nc) Systems & Network Management (20%)
\n\u2022 Maintain the basic network infrastructure (cabling, routers, switches, VPN access).
\n\u2022 Monitor system logs and network performance to ensure stability and detect
\nintrusions.
\n\u2022 Support software migration and deployment projects across all offices
\nd) Regulatory Compliance (15%)
\n\u2022 Ensure all IT practices and systems are in full compliance with recognized IT security
\nstandards and donor requirements.
\n\u2022 Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT incidents, operational
\nprocedures, and user access permissions.
\n\u2022 Actively participate in internal and external audits by providing required information
\nand documentation
\nQualifications and Experience
\n\u2022 Education: BAC+2 or BAC+3 (or equivalent) in Informatics, Computer Technology, or a
\nrelated field.
\n\u2022 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in IT support, systems
\nadministration, or a similar role.
\n\u2022 Technical Skills:
\no Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and infrastructure (e.g., VPNs,
\nrouting, switches).
\no Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity, data protection, and incident response.
\no Familiarity with the recent versions of Microsoft Office 365\/Microsoft 365 suite
\n(especially SharePoint) and standard office equipment.
\no AI Familiarity: Demonstrable familiarity with AI tools and concepts, particularly
\nconcerning data management, and applications in research\/evaluation contexts.
\n\u2022 Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and strong writing and oral communication
\nskills in both English and French is required.
\n\u2022 Soft Skills: Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, display proactivity, and
\nmake sound, informed decisions.
