Inclusion<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities<br \/>\nCompile, maintain and update a legal and regulatory universe for the company that will be used as the basis for development, enhancement, monitoring and oversight over compliance requirements in this space<br \/>\nIdentify, prioritize and assess all the applicable legal and regulatory requirements that the company is required to comply with<\/p>\n<p>Assist the Business Unit to define detailed Compliance Risk Management Plans (CRMP) for each material obligation within pertinent laws and regulations and conduct the necessary monitoring based on these CRMPAs per business plan<br \/>\nTesting and ensuring the effectiveness and adequacy of controls in place to support compliance to laws and regulations<br \/>\nProactively identifying gaps or areas of non-compliance and actively work with the business to close them with reasonable timelines.<br \/>\nDevelop a privacy program as per Regulatory and Group requirements<br \/>\nHold relevant business units accountable for the implementation of effective strategies to ensure compliance to all relevant laws and regulations<br \/>\nWork with the MTN Regulatory functions and provide input into regulations, legislative framework and future impact of new Regulatory policies and legislation \u2013with a specific focus on the impact of such regulations or policies on MTN\u2019s business<br \/>\nAssist the Business Units in identifying the laws and regulations on which they need to be trained on, the material, the method to be used and the assessment of training and monitor adherence and compliance to the training plan<\/p>\n<p>Provide a 2nd level of assurance to the regulatory department by regularly monitoring the environment to identify new laws and regulations, or changes to existing laws in order to proactively update the company\u2019s list of requirements<br \/>\nStay abreast of and report regularly on all relevant compliance and regulatory requirements within the Telecommunications Industry<br \/>\nAct as a subject matter expert for issues related to laws and regulations and advise the Business Units on what is required from a Compliance perspective<br \/>\nSupport the regulatory department in their engagement with the authorities by providing statistics and reports when required on current levels of compliance<br \/>\nMonitor compliance to laws and regulation through the introduction and execution of an effective compliance program<br \/>\nAct as a link between third line assurance functions such as internal audit and relevant first line functions<br \/>\nMonitor the financial performance of the legal and Regulatory Compliance unit versus budgets and ensure all activities are carried out in line with the approved guidelines while promptly reporting on any variances to the SM: Compliance<br \/>\nImplement standards for testing methodologies, techniques and procedures and conduct robust quality standard programme.<br \/>\nQualifications<br \/>\nEducation:<\/p>\n<p>Recognized 3-year university qualification<br \/>\nFluent in English and French<br \/>\nAdmitted attorney \/ advocate \/ auditor \/ engineering university qualification will be an  advantage<br \/>\nTraining<\/p>\n<p>Compliance Training<br \/>\nICT training<br \/>\nEthics Trainings<br \/>\nExperience:<\/p>\n<p>Minimum of 3 years\u2019 post qualification experience with at least 2 years in relevant  sector\/ industry<br \/>\n3 years of experience in Supervisory role in legal \/ accounting \/ audit\/ Risk Management  or Compliance position within a legal, audit, or accounting organization or as a  Compliance Officer in a highly regulated industry, preferably telecommunications or banking<br \/>\nExperience of local Regulatory landscape<br \/>\nWorking knowledge of Back-Office tasks in a Telco.<br \/>\nExperience in handling Policies, Procedures and Policies<br \/>\nFunctional Knowledge and Skills:  <\/p>\n<p>Ability to think innovatively and develop strong implementation plans for strategies to  overcome complex business and industry challenges<br \/>\nProficient knowledge of the regulatory, compliance environment, Policies, procedures  and process<br \/>\nOrganizational awareness<br \/>\nDecision making processes<br \/>\nEntrepreneurial approaches<br \/>\nKnowledge of political, regulatory, and general economic conditions of the Operating Country (OpCo).<br \/>\nTelecommunications industries<br \/>\nProject Management<\/p>\n<p>Behavioural Qualities (Live MTN
