Position: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS Health Economist
\nLocation: CRID, Yaound\u00e9, Cameroon.<\/p>\n
Role Summary
\nThis position is part of the Catalysing the Adoption of a Novel Vector Control Toolbox (CANVeCT) project, a multidisciplinary study in Cameroon evaluating the effectiveness of spatial repellents (SRs) in reducing malaria transmission and influencing insecticide resistance compared with dual-active ingredient long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs).
\nFunded by Unitaid, CANVeCT integrates epidemiology, entomology, mathematical modelling, social science, and health economics to generate strong evidence supporting the adoption of SRs as an essential malaria control tool. The project is conducted in collaboration with the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) and global partners including the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).<\/p>\n
Recognizing the critical role of cost-effectiveness in guiding adoption and policy decisions, the project requires a Health Economist to lead health economic evaluations and ensure the sustainability and scalability of malaria interventions.<\/p>\n
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
\nEssential<\/p>\n
Advanced degree (Master\u2019s or PhD) in Health Economics, Health Policy, Public Health, or related field.
\nMinimum 5 years\u2019 experience in applied health economics, preferably in LMICs.
\nStrong expertise in cost-effectiveness analysis, economic modelling, and health systems research.
\nDemonstrated experience in collecting and analyzing primary cost data in field settings.
\nDesirable<\/p>\n
Experience with NMCPs, WHO, or donor-funded projects.
\nKnowledge of equity analysis in health economics.
\nFluency in English and French.
