We are recruiting on behalf of our client in the Hydro electrical engineering sector for the position of HSE Manager.<\/p>\n
The HSE Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures for the 400KV Substation project. He\/She will ensure full compliance with international standards, client requirements, and local regulations, while fostering a strong culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the project site.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Develop and implement HSE plans, policies, and procedures aligned with project requirements.
\nEnsure compliance with international HSE standards, local laws, and client contractual obligations.
\nConduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and site inspections.
\nInvestigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
\nOrganize safety training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
\nMaintain proper documentation and records for audits and client reporting.
\nLead HSE meetings and toolbox talks with site staff and contractors.
\nLiaise with project management, client representatives, and local authorities on HSE matters.<\/p>\n
Monitor environmental impact and ensure proper waste management practices.<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
Min Bachelor\u2019s degree in HSE, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
\nMin 10 years of proven HSE experience, with at least 5 years in power transmission or substation projects (400KV preferre d).
\nStrong knowledge of international HSE standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OHSAS).
\nExperience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects in Africa or similar environments is an asset.
\nExcellent leadership, communication, and reporting skills.
\nFluency in English required; French is a strong advantage.<\/p>\n
