Material and production planner is a professional who manages the flow of materials and production processes to ensure efficient manufacturing operations. They bridge the gap between production planning and material procurement, optimizing inventory levels and production schedules to meet sales demand while minimizing costs.<\/p>\n
Vital role in the manufacturing process, ensuring that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and cost-effectively to meet customer demands and business objectives.<\/p>\n
Duties<\/p>\n
Creating and managing production schedules, often using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems, to align production with sales forecasts and customer orders.
\nDetermining the quantities of raw materials, components, and other inputs needed for production and ensuring their availability.<\/p>\n
Monitoring inventory levels, minimizing waste, and preventing both shortages and overstocking of materials.
\nDevelop and manage production schedules, considering factors like demand forecasts, material availability, and resource capacity.
\nCoordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and managing supplier relationships.
\nAssessing production capacity and identifying potential bottlenecks to optimize resource allocation.
\nCreating and managing detailed production schedules, including timelines, resource allocation, and workflow planning.
\nWorking with various departments (e.g., purchasing, sales, manufacturing) to ensure smooth operations. Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline production processes. .
\nThey track production progress against schedules, identify and resolve production bottlenecks, and analyze production delays to improve efficiency and minimize disruptions.
\nPlanners ensure that the manufacturing processes adhere to quality standards and that the final products meet the required specifications.
\nAnalyzing data, inventory reports, and market trends to make informed decisions.
\nA good understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management systems, and planning mechanism software is often required.

\nStrong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
\nAnalytical and problem-solving skills.
\nAbility to work independently and handle pressure.
\nAdherence to timeline for set goals
\nPROFILE :<\/p>\n
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in production planning and development.
\nA good understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management systems, and production planning and supply chain principles.
\nKnowledge of local market trends and regulations.
\nAbility to communicate clearly and effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
