Job Description
\nGovernance<\/p>\n
Adhoc and Operational Meeting<\/p>\n
Set up \/ participate in adhoc and operational meetings
\nReport at process and functional level
\nEscalations<\/p>\n
Manage and resolve escalations that have impact on critical path of service delivery
\nEscalate issues that will result in significant time, scope, employee \/ client or cost impact if not resolved<\/p>\n
Manage and provide solutions to issues that require formal resolution
\nOpco Operational<\/p>\n
Set up and manage project status meetings
\nReview and identify key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions
\nManage budgets
\nSign-off \/ make decisions regarding operational changes
\nPerformance <\/p>\n
Provide input to the performance review of CoE against agreed KPIs and their compliance to SLAs and reverse SLAs
\nCreate and monitor plan for continuous improvement
\nReporting<\/p>\n
Provide input into the review of reports on a monthly basis from the CoE relating to progress made within the sub-division and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organisation
\nReview reports on specific projects as per the defined timelines as and when necessary
\nResponsibilities
\nOPERATIONAL DELIVERY<\/p>\n
Assess and consolidate all TX Planning CAPEX projects and submit to Network Group Finance for budget process preparation
\nParticipate in supplier selection for the delivery of requisite Transmission solution
\nPlan and manage Transmission budget
\nProvide directive \/ guidance for design of an optimized Transmission Network nodes and elements
\nFollow up Transmission project execution with the team to ensure project capitalization is done as planned<\/p>\n
Assign technical lead for a Transmission Network projects
\nAssign the right Transmission resource for any raised issue or request from internal customers that need Transmission team involvement
\nFollow up with suppliers any gap that is being raised during Transmission project execution
\nPrepare Scope and Swap plans for planned activities
\nFollow up to ensure permanent compliance of Business Continuity Process and Disaster Recovery Plan recommendations
\nExplore vendors enhanced products and features roadmaps as a proactive preparation of design architecture reviews
\nBring support to any requirements coming from regulation or any unplanned revenue increase initiative from the business
\nPrepare PDP of Transmission unit and share with Human resource team
\nElaborate Transmission Network Planning team IPF
\nEvaluation performance of Transmission Network Planning team members
\nApproved change related to Transmission Network
\nEnsure the providing of all needed documents for Transmission related projects to CPG for project planning process (CPB, WBS, etc.)
\nCoordinate the elaboration of Transmission Network Planning INP<\/p>\n
Coordinate the elaboration of SLAs with internal customers
\nProvide monthly financial, PDP, and project report to the management
\nDefine job profiles and job descriptions of Transmission Network Planning team members
\nPerform needed action for staff recruitment within Transmission Network Planning unit
\nEnsure the providing of monthly KPI report for the unit
\nProvide key quarterly achievement and quarterly plan of the unit to the management
\nValidation of process and procedure governing Transmission Network activities
\nValidation of Transmission Network Policies
\nParticipate on training courses as booked or as recommended by HR
\nQualifications<\/p>\n
B.Sc. in Electrical\/ Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering.
\nMaster\u2019s degree is a plus.
\nMinimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in designing and implementing TX projects, with experience in supervising\/managing others.
\nExperience working in a medium to large organization.<\/p>\n
Experience with third party Transmission solutions providers<\/p>\n
TX Networks Planning and Design
\nCapacity and Dimensioning for TX NETWORKS
\nMicrowave Link Design
\nMicrowave Networks Planning and Operation
\nFiber Optic Networks Design and Operations
\nArchitecture engineering
\nDigital services and ICT solutions as a plus
\nTOGAF 9 Level 1&2, ITIL V3 Foundation, or equivalent would be advantageous
\nKNOWLEDGE<\/p>\n
Strong knowledge of network architecture for telecom industry
\nStrong knowledge of Transmission Planning (Microwave and Fiber)
\nGood understanding of radio (2G\/3G\/4G\/5G) network planning & optimization techniques and constraints
\nUnderstanding of wider trends in the international and local telecoms industry.
\nBe computer and internet literate.
\nUnderstand principles of software & database development.
\nGood understanding of the principles of IP basics (addressing, routing VLANs, VPN, etc.)
\nMap reading skills.
\nAdvanced working understanding of the information technology environment of a telecom company
