For our operations in Cameroon, we are looking for:<br \/>\nMEAL INTERN (EMERGENCY RECRUITMENT) M\/F<br \/>\nBase: Kumba (south west region)<br \/>\nNumber of positions : 1<br \/>\nContract duration: 3 months<br \/>\nstart date: August 2025<br \/>\nsupervised by: MEAL Manager<br \/>\nLocation : Kumba<br \/>\n1. Purpose and Delivery:<br \/>\n\uf0b7 The MEAL intern will provide professional support to the MEAL department.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 The MEAL intern will be trained to ensure that he\/she is acquainted with the<br \/>\nMEAL skills, standards, and procedures.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 The MEAL Intern will work under the technical and managerial<br \/>\ndirectives\/supervision of the MEAL Manager.<br \/>\n2. Essential job duties and main objective<br \/>\nThe MEAL intern will provide support to the MEAL department, especially on the South<br \/>\nWest Base while upgrading his\/her skills and competencies in MEAL.<br \/>\n3. Responsibilities:<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Support in the effective management of feedback and complaint mechanism.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Support in the management of qualitative and quantitative project\/program data.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Support in the preparation and timely submission of MEAL reports.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Support in the planning of MEAL activities, using various planning tools.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Participate in project\/program and MEAL meetings.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Support in the planning and implementation of surveys\/assessments.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Support in planning and execution of capacity building activities.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Support in learning activities<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Support in carrying out monitoring activities.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Participate in the development of project\/program monitoring tools.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Participate in development of MEAL tools (MEAL plan, IPTT\u2026etc)<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Carry out basic printing, scanning and archiving of MEAL documents and reports.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Responsible to report any difficulties to the supervisor.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Submit weekly report to the supervisor.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Available of perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.<\/p>\n<p> 4. Reporting.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 As instructed by the line manager, prepare activity reports, in line with the<br \/>\nfrequencies established for the Mission (each week and month), and ensure that<br \/>\nstatistical data is regularly updated.<br \/>\nDIPLOMAS\/STUDIES\/EXPERIENCE<br \/>\n\uf0b7 A first degree in M&amp;E or MEAL, data science, statistics, Management Information systems,<br \/>\npublic health, project management, social science or any related field no more than 18<br \/>\nmonths old.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Should have atleast 6 months of professional experience in MEAL activities in preferably<br \/>\nin health and Nutrition or other related projects preferably within a development and\/or<br \/>\nhumanitarian NGO. (INGO will be an added advantage).<\/p>\n<p>REQUIRED SKILLS :<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Fast typing skills; knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel)<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Basic understanding of databases, data analysis and reporting skills<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Good command of English both oral and written<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Familiar with basic android or Smartphone applications<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Experienced in SMART data collection, particularly Kobo Toolbox is an asset.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Good capacity to work in a team, capacity to manage priorities,<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Have the ability to work under pressure, good organizational and interpersonal skills,<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Innovative, motivated and able to work with minimal supervision and strict deadlines<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Willing to accomplish each day\u2019s work with peers and supervisor at the end of each day,<br \/>\nwhich may involve long working hours.<br \/>\nBEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCES:<br \/>\n\uf0b7 High level of confidentiality and respect of data protection protocols.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Attention to details.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Teamwork<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Communication Skills<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Planning and Organizing<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Flexibility and adaptability<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Initiative<br \/>\nCommitment to gender equality<br \/>\n&#8211; Commitment to respect and apply Action Against Hunger&rsquo;s gender policy<br \/>\n&#8211; Integrate the gender approach in activities<br \/>\n&#8211; Contribute to a gender-sensitive working environment and avoid discrimination<br \/>\nSafeguarding<br \/>\nAction Against Hunger believes that every person with whom it comes into contact,<br \/>\nregardless of age, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation or ethnic origin, has the right<br \/>\nto be protected from all forms of harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation.
