Actions Against Hunger is an International Non Governmental Organization (NGO), apolitical,
\nnon denominational and non-profit. For our operations in Cameroon, we are looking for:
\nMEAL INTERN (EMERGENCY RECRUITMENT) M\/F
\nBase: Kumba (south west region)
\nNumber of positions : 1

\nsupervised by: MEAL Manager
\nLocation : Kumba
\n1. Purpose and Delivery:
\n\uf0b7 The MEAL intern will provide professional support to the MEAL department.
\n\uf0b7 The MEAL intern will be trained to ensure that he\/she is acquainted with the
\nMEAL skills, standards, and procedures.
\n\uf0b7 The MEAL Intern will work under the technical and managerial
\ndirectives\/supervision of the MEAL Manager.
\n2. Essential job duties and main objective
\nThe MEAL intern will provide support to the MEAL department, especially on the South
\nWest Base while upgrading his\/her skills and competencies in MEAL.
\n3. Responsibilities:
\n\uf0b7 Support in the effective management of feedback and complaint mechanism.
\n\uf0b7 Support in the management of qualitative and quantitative project\/program data.
\n\uf0b7 Support in the preparation and timely submission of MEAL reports.
\n\uf0b7 Support in the planning of MEAL activities, using various planning tools.
\n\uf0b7 Participate in project\/program and MEAL meetings.
\n\uf0b7 Support in the planning and implementation of surveys\/assessments.
\n\uf0b7 Support in planning and execution of capacity building activities.
\n\uf0b7 Support in learning activities
\n\uf0b7 Support in carrying out monitoring activities.
\n\uf0b7 Participate in the development of project\/program monitoring tools.
\n\uf0b7 Participate in development of MEAL tools (MEAL plan, IPTT\u2026etc)
\n\uf0b7 Carry out basic printing, scanning and archiving of MEAL documents and reports.
\n\uf0b7 Responsible to report any difficulties to the supervisor.
\n\uf0b7 Submit weekly report to the supervisor.
\n\uf0b7 Available of perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.<\/p>\n
4. Reporting.
\n\uf0b7 As instructed by the line manager, prepare activity reports, in line with the
\nfrequencies established for the Mission (each week and month), and ensure that
\nstatistical data is regularly updated.
\nDIPLOMAS\/STUDIES\/EXPERIENCE
\n\uf0b7 A first degree in M&E or MEAL, data science, statistics, Management Information systems,
\npublic health, project management, social science or any related field no more than 18
\nmonths old.
\n\uf0b7 Should have atleast 6 months of professional experience in MEAL activities in preferably
\nin health and Nutrition or other related projects preferably within a development and\/or
\nhumanitarian NGO. (INGO will be an added advantage).<\/p>\n
REQUIRED SKILLS :
\n\uf0b7 Fast typing skills; knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
\n\uf0b7 Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel)
\n\uf0b7 Basic understanding of databases, data analysis and reporting skills
\n\uf0b7 Good command of English both oral and written
\n\uf0b7 Familiar with basic android or Smartphone applications
\n\uf0b7 Experienced in SMART data collection, particularly Kobo Toolbox is an asset.
\n\uf0b7 Good capacity to work in a team, capacity to manage priorities,
\n\uf0b7 Have the ability to work under pressure, good organizational and interpersonal skills,
\n\uf0b7 Innovative, motivated and able to work with minimal supervision and strict deadlines
\n\uf0b7 Willing to accomplish each day\u2019s work with peers and supervisor at the end of each day,
\nwhich may involve long working hours.
