Together, we seek to protect and restore natural habitats, stop the mass extinction of wildlife, and make the way we produce and consume sustainable.<br>For our Jengi TNS Programme based in Mambele, we are looking for a dynamic and commited Community Facilitator to support WWF\/Jengi-TNS Programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Reports to: Community Development Officer<br>Location: Mambele, Boumba and Ngoko Department, Eastern Region, Cameroon<br>Duration: One year renewable<br><strong>Mission of the Department<\/strong><br>WWF has maintained an effective presence in the area since 1995, when it created the Jengi South East<br>Forest Programme. The Programme subsequently evolved into the current Jengi Tri-National de la Sangha (TNS) Programme which supports the LNP and its peripheral zone in wildlife conservation, contributing to the well-being of local people and the sustainable management of natural resources through a landscape approach in partnership with the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife, the Foundation for the Tri-National de la Sangha (FTNS). The major mission of the department is to empower and support local communities in achieving sustainable, inclusive, and equitable development through participatory approaches, capacity building, and the facilitation of collaborative partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Major Functions<br>The Community Facilitator will contribute, under the supervision of the Community Development Officer (CDO), to the implementation of the above mission and support the achievement of the overall mission of the Jengi-TNS Programme as required. In line with WWF Cameroon&rsquo;s vision of a future with healthy ecosystems and flourishing biodiversity supporting people and sustainable development in Cameroon, the mission of the Jengi-TNS Programme is to halt the decline of biodiversity, reverse the negative trend and ontribute to the improvement of the living conditions of local communities and indigenous peoples (Baka).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Major Duties and Responsibilities<br>\u2022 Build the capacity of local organizations and community members through training, workshops, and<br>mentorship in various areas such as leadership, project management, and conflict resolution;<br>\u2022 Develop and disseminate communication materials, case studies, and best practices to raise<br>awareness about community development issues and successes;<br>\u2022 Foster partnerships and networks among community members, local organizations, government<br>entities, and other stakeholders to enhance collaboration and resource sharing ;<br>\u2022 Inform local communities and indigenous Baka populations of WWF activities and initiatives in favor<br>of the Baka;<br>\u2022 Conduct sensitization, education and popularization of laws in force regarding the sustainable<br>management of forest and wildlife resources;<br>\u2022 Provide technical assistance for the implementation of the protocol of agreement between MINFOF<br>and ASBABUK, recognizing and protecting the rights of the indigenous Baka peoples in the PNL and<br>its peripheries;<br>\u2022 Monitor and provide guidance on community development activities (IGAs, community forestry,<br>citizenship, education support, human rights, ecotourism, sustainable management of wildlife and<br>forest royalties, etc.)<br>\u2022 Provide technical and organizational assistance to local communities and indigenous Baka<br>populations to develop and implement IGA activities;<br>\u2022 Collect relevant data for socio-economic monitoring;<br>\u2022 Contribute to ensuring program compliance with technical and financial reporting and<br>monitoring\/evaluation requirements;<br>\u2022 Perform any other tasks, as assigned by the CDO, in relation to the communities and in accordance<br>with WWF strategy and policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Profile<br>Required qualifications:<br>\u2022 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in community development, forestry, law governance, natural resources<br>management, social work, international development, or a related field.<br>\u2022 Minimum of 1 year experience in community development, preferably in a nonprofit or international<br>organization.<br>Required skills and competencies<br>\u2022 \u2060Strong facilitation and participatory planning skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups and<br>stakeholders.<br>\u2022 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in the local language(s) of the<br>target communities.<br>\u2022 Experience in capacity building and training, particularly with local organizations and communities.<br>\u2022 Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation processes, tools, and best practices.<br>\u2022 Demonstrated experience in partnership building and networking among various stakeholders.<br>\u2022 Strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt and problem-solve in complex, dynamic<br>environments.\u2022 Have a good knowledge of the WWF intervention zone in the TNS landscapes;<br>\u2022 Experience of working with communities in forest areas;<br>\u2022 Fluency in English and French;<br>\u2022 Proactive approach to meeting deadlines and achieving results with limited supervision;<br>\u2022 Willingness and ability to live and work in a remote area;<br>\u2022 Knowledge of local language\/s, culture, customs and traditions;<br>\u2022 Experience in data analysis and report writing (excel, Qgis, ArcGis, power point etc).<br>Values and Behaviors<br>\u2022 Identifies and aligns with the core values of the WWF organization: Courage, Collaboration,<br>Respect &amp; Integrity.<br>\u2022 Demonstrates WWF behaviors in way of working: Strive for Impact, Listen Deeply, Collaborate<br>Openly, Innovate Fearlessly.<br>Working Relationships<br>Internal: Maintain close working relations and interactions with Jengi-TNS staff, including MINFOF agents and support staff working in the NGP.<br>External: Interact with local sectoral bodies, civil society organisations, endogenous community entities and the various stakeholders in the management of the NIP and its peripheral zone.<br>Qualified candidates from residents of Lobeke (Moloundou, Salapoumb\u00e9, Mambel\u00e9\u2026) are strongly<br>encouraged to apply.<br>This job description covers the main tasks and conveys the spirit of the sort of tasks that are anticipated proactively from staff.
