For our operations in Cameroon, we are looking for:<br>NUTRITION AND HEALTH SENIOR OFFICER M\/F<br>Base: Kumba (south west region)<br>Number of positions : 1<br>Contract duration: Until 31 April 2026<br>Start date: 01\/5\/2024<br>Supervised by: Health and Nutrition Program Manager<br>Technical Supervisor: Head of Department ( HoD), Health and Nutrition<br>Location : Kumba South-West Region<br><strong>OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:<\/strong><br>Mission 1: Provide technical support to the HF for the management of common diseases in both<br>children aged 0 to 5 years and adults above 5 (pregnant and lactating women) and Mobile<br>Clinics when applicable<br>Activities:<br>&#8211; Supervise examination, screening, medical consultation, and follow up of the children, pregnant<br>and lactating women.<br>&#8211; Ensure that the staffs administer proper medical treatment to beneficiaries as needed.<br>&#8211; Identify and transfer complicated medical to specialized care<br>&#8211; Support drug supply management<br>Mission 2: Provide technical support for the provision of care in the pediatric unit inclusive of<br>SC (supervise nutritional treatment) and maternal cases with complications<br>Activities:<br>&#8211; Ensure that the staffs carry out a daily medical check-up and consultation with every admitted<br>beneficiary according to national treatment protocols for Cameroon.<br>&#8211; Ensure correct admission criteria to the SC are followed<br>&#8211; Keep the SC standard in-line with the MOH requirement<br>&#8211; Train staffs on SC protocols<br>&#8211; Ensure daily anthropometric measurement of each beneficiary in SC is conducted.<br>&#8211; Supervise staffs in calculation of daily milk feeds according to protocol.<br>&#8211; Supervise staffs in mixing and preparing milk correctly.<br>&#8211; Provide assistance to mothers if needed to give milk or RUTF to the child.<br>&#8211; Observe mothers during milk and RUTF feeding to identify potential problems if it is necessary.<br>&#8211; Ensure that the appetite test conduct according to protocol.<br>&#8211; Ensures the quality of distribution of WASH kits in health facilities<br>&#8211; Ensure that food and materials are sufficiently supplied for the caretakers, properly used,<br>maintained and well stored<br>&#8211; Support drug supply management<br>Mission 3: Provides technical support for data collection in each supported health facility2<br>Activities<br>&#8211; Ensure proper filling and updating of registration books on daily basis.<br>&#8211; Ensure the correct registration of all admissions and discharges of beneficiaries.<br>&#8211; Complete the medical history form for each child entering the stabilization center.<br>&#8211; Give technical support to compile weekly and monthly reports.<br>&#8211; Draft monthly reports (APR) for the health and nutrition program<br>&#8211; Participate in any other related reporting activities as instructed by the line manager.<br>&#8211; Participate in any other related reporting activities as instructed by the line manager.<br>&#8211; Ensure that copies of monthly report activity from supported HF are timely collected and<br>centralized at AAH program office.<br>Mission 4: Ensure reimbursement of bills and timely payment.<br>Activities<br>&#8211; Ensure reimbursement of bills to the hospital is done on a timely basis (follow up, verification and<br>submission of invoices for payment)<br>&#8211; Follow up on the cases referred from the community and ensure the reimbursement of their<br>transportation (reason for referral, source of referral, service that received the referred case)<br>&#8211; Ensure the feeding of patients hospitalized at the SC<br>Mission 5: Stock management of drugs, medical supplies, food and non-food items<br>Activities<br>&#8211; Carry out regular stock inventory of drugs, medical supplies, food and non-food items and updates<br>on their stock levels and expiry dates with the support of the logistics assistance and\/or health and<br>nutrition team and ask support from the pharmacist of the mission when needed<br>&#8211; Ensure that medical supply is sufficient, and the pharmacy is well maintained.<br>&#8211; Order more drugs and supplies as needed to the line manager.<br>&#8211; Ensure that all medicines are properly used, maintained and well stored<br>&#8211; Ensure proper use and storage of all AAH Properties within his\/her level of use<br>Mission 6: Representation and Coordination<br>Activities<br>&#8211; Participate in organizational meetings and other activities for program and quality improvement<br>&#8211; Participate in other AAH assessments such as health facility assessments.<br>&#8211; Representation of AAH in different coordination meetings\/ forums at the hospital or district<br>level<br>&#8211; Coordination with other sectors within AAH, such as logistics, Finance, programs and externally<br>with other key stakeholders such as Caritas, Reach Out etc and district health authorities.<br>&#8211; Participate fully in development of proposal related to health and nutrition<br>&#8211; Any other duty as may be assigned by the line manager<br>DIPLOMAS\/STUDIES\/EXPERIENCE :<br>&#8211; Essential, University studies. Desirable, health related studies, State Registered Nurse.<br>&#8211; Essential: previous experience of at least 3 years in similar or relevant positions<br>&#8211; Previous experience working with AAH in health and nutrition projects would be an asset<br>REQUIRED SKILLS :3<br>&#8211; Good managerial abilities, good communication skills, negotiating and organizational skills,<br>flexibility, resourcefulness, ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment, proactive attitude, good listening skills, capacity to take and follow instructions.<br>&#8211; 3 years\u2019 experience with action against hunger, working directly on nutrition and health in the<br>humanitarian context.<br>&#8211; Experience in WASH programming<br>Training skills.<br>&#8211; Knowledge in computing: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.<br>&#8211; Knowledge of English and local language (Pidgin English)<br>&#8211; Motorbike riding skill<br>Essential English(fluent) and local languages of working areas(pidgin English)<br>COMMITMENT TO GENDER EQUALITY<br>&#8211; Commit to respecting and applying the Action Against Hunger gender policy<br>&#8211; Integrating the gender approach into activities<br>&#8211; Contribute to a work environment taking into account the specificities of each other and avoid any<br>discrimination<br>SAFEGUARDING<br>Action Against Hunger believes that everyone with whom it comes into contact regardless of age,<br>gender identity, disability, ethnic origin or any other ground of discrimination has the right to be<br>protected from any form of harm, of abuse, neglect and exploitation.
