Job purpose<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Provide mapping and data management support for risk assessment projects at Green DEALL, a non-for-profit and research organisation tackling challenges such as human-wildlife conflicts, climate change, and resource degradation. The post holder will be responsible for collecting, processing, mapping and managing data under the supervision of the Executive Director.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n

Main duties <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

·        <\/span><\/span><\/span>Perform data collection, analysis, storage, and mapping for Green DEALL’s activities and projects<\/span><\/p>\n

·       <\/span><\/span><\/span>·        <\/span><\/span>Set up and manage Green DEALL’s databases<\/span><\/p>\n

·        <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ensure data security and integrity<\/span><\/p>\n

·        <\/span><\/span><\/span>Assist in developing and enforcing policies for secure and efficient data handling<\/span><\/p>\n

·        <\/span><\/span><\/span>Prepare written reports and documentation describing project or system status<\/span><\/p>\n

·        <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ideally able to carry out modeling and qualitative analyses to inform vulnerability assessment to disaster risks<\/span><\/p>\n

Person specifications <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Qualification and experience<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

·      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Master’s Degree in cartography, GIS, or environmental modeling, with demonstrable experience of utilising professional geo-processing software. Training in data management and previous work involving protected areas would be an advantage.<\/span><\/p>\n

·      <\/span><\/span><\/span>An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to provide the applicant with the knowledge, skills and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the job will be considered<\/span><\/p>\n

Knowledge, skills, and abilities <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

·      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Demonstrable s<\/span>kills in u<\/span>tilising GIS software on desktop and online for analysis and mapping<\/span><\/p>\n

·      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Knowledge of advanced GIS concepts, geoprocessing functions and techniques, and spatial database management <\/span><\/p>\n

·      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability to combine knowledge of GIS databases and software with common sense and insight in solving problems and making decisions<\/span><\/p>\n

·      <\/span><\/span><\/span>K<\/span>nowledge and experience of environmental modeling <\/span><\/p>\n

·      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Good planning, organising, and time management skills, including the ability to appropriately prioritise assignments<\/span><\/p>\n

·      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Result<\/span>-oriented, a<\/span>bility to w<\/span>ork under pressure and with minimal supervision to solve problems and meet deadlines<\/span><\/p>\n

·      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability to work <\/span>as part of a team as well as show own initiative<\/span><\/p>\n

·      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Writing in clear concise language to produce technical reports and other required documentation<\/span><\/p>\n

·      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Strong  oral and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences<\/span><\/p>\n

·      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability to travel and spend time in rural areas <\/span><\/p>\n

·      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Fluency in French and English <\/span><\/p>\n
