Overview of GGH LLC:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Georgetown University Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI) serves countries to improve their population health and wellbeing and to safeguard against health-related threats by advancing the use of evidence and human-centred enterprise architecture on the path towards achieving equity and social justice. To achieve this mission, we catalyse the uptake, spread, and implementation of innovations; triangulate data from different sources, and tailor visualization of the information for each audience; design and implement integrated service delivery models; support communities of practice to inform policy and practice through efficient data use and horizontal and vertical collaboration; disseminate best practices and evidence globally through open source learning networks; build global, collaborative, multi-disciplinary, and interprofessional networks; undertake research that is informed by local needs; and invest in local leadership to own, provide oversight, and sustain implemented interventions. Georgetown University, through CGHPI, is managing an award received from U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC) through funding from the U.S President\u2019s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to support HIV response efforts in Cameroon for achievement of HIV epidemic control to implement a program titled Translating Data and Evidence into Impact (TIDE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Department: <\/strong>Strategic Information<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Position Title: 1 Health Informatics Specialist
Reports to: Strategic: Strategic Information and Health Informatic Team Lead
Location of Work: East Region<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summary Position<\/strong>
The health informatics specialist\/officer will install and configure, maintain all computer systems (hardware and software) and networks at the project office and at all locations (facilities) where TIDE has an IT infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specific Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

System management<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Support and troubleshoot applications and services on associated physical servers, virtual servers, networks, storage systems and information security systems.
\u2022 Be able to implement Georgetown University\u2019s Business processes for all new and existing applications structures and operations to customers use expectations
\u2022 Provide software engineering support when building, deploying, configuring and supporting systems for e-solutions
\u2022 Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
\u2022 Supports IT operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
\u2022 Provides information by collecting, analysing, and summarizing development and service issues.
\u2022 Ensure that all required EMRs are functional
\u2022 Ensure all systems remain functional, available and secure.
\u2022 Generate reports from different data sources in line with data management demands
Technology Management
\u2022 Investigate, analyse and make recommendations to management regarding technology improvements, upgrades and modifications
\u2022 Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners
\u2022 Provides information by collecting, analysing, and summarizing development and service issues.
\u2022 Maintains database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Information Technology Support<\/strong>
\u2022 Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications;
\u2022 Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
\u2022 Talking staff or clients through a series of actions, to help set up systems or resolve issues;
\u2022 Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults;
\u2022 Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
\u2022 Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
\u2022 Supporting the roll-out of new applications;
\u2022 Setting up new users\u2019 accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
\u2022 Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs;
\u2022 Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate);
\u2022 Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with other professionals, such as software developers and vendors;
\u2022 Testing and evaluating new technology;
\u2022 Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qualification and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022    Experience: Minimum 2 to 5 years working experience; demonstrated success developing a variety of software systems while taking on increasing responsibility for analysis, design, implementation and deployment tasks
\u2022    Specialized knowledge:  Proficient in using MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Web services APIs, working in mixed environments including Linux, Unix and\/or Windows on desktop, server, tablet, and mobile systems
\u2022    Skills: Strong organizational, time management, computer and communication skills, leadership, coaching and team building skills to strengthen and cultivate relationship to help achieve organizational goal.
\u2022    Abilities: Strategic and analytical thinking skills with ability to solve problems and make decisions and able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize, ability to determine activities and project towards measurable goals and standard setting in collaboration with other team members.
\u2022    Interpersonal\/Individual Competencies: ability to work with other team members, flexibility, decisiveness and personal integrity<\/p>\n\n\n\n
