1.     BACKGROUND<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) \u2013 is a leading, international humanitarian displacement organization,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

supporting refugees and internally displaced persons in 40 countries. We provide protection and life-saving<\/p>\n\n\n\n

humanitarian assistance. DRC was founded in Denmark in 1956, employs 9,000 staff and is supported by<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7,500 volunteers in Denmark. All of DRC’s work is based on humanitarian and human rights principles,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

in accordance with NGO code of conduct in disaster relief operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DRC has as mission to assist refugees and the displaced, protecting them from harm, safeguarding<\/p>\n\n\n\n

their legal rights, and empowering them towards a better future. The protection and assistance approach<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to conflict-affected populations is provided in a long-term and rights-based to ensure a coherent<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and effective response to the challenges of today’s conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DRC is present in seven West African countries and currently in the South West, Adamawa and East<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regions of Cameroon. DRC’s current interventions in the South West Region are concentrated<\/p>\n\n\n\n

in Fako and Meme Divisions in a range of activities with a focus on providing humanitarian<\/p>\n\n\n\n

assistance and creation and promotion of protective environment for displacement affected communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DRC is desirous about creating a pool of persons with high skills in conducting community l<\/p>\n\n\n\n

evel surveys, specifically data collection. The development of this technical resource is aimed at<\/p>\n\n\n\n

having a pool of enumerators who will offer expertise in data collection that DRC can draw upon<\/p>\n\n\n\n

as and when the need arises. With that background, DRC now invites qualified enumerators with<\/p>\n\n\n\n

experience in provision of the above stated service and capacity to express interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.     PURPOSE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The primary objective of this notice is to get a qualified enumerators list to undertake comprehensive<\/p>\n\n\n\n

assessments and routine data collection activities that are being implemented by the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) in Meme Division of the South West Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The enumerators will work closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team on specific data collection initiatives and will be employed for the duration of the study\/surveys on a contractual basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.     MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF THE ENUMERATORS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

a.     Participate in all technical orientation sessions organized by DRC particularly on data collection tools;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

b.     Collect data in accordance with the expectations of the activities concerned (volume of work is based on assessment design);<\/p>\n\n\n\n

c.      Participate in briefing and debriefing sessions at the beginning and end of each working day;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

d.     Review survey documents in order to ensure accuracy of data;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

e.     Ensure adherence to a laid down Code of Conduct for Enumerators;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

f.       Transmit the data collected at the end of the day on the KoBo toolbox platform or deposit the survey sheets with the direct supervisor;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

g.     Complete all planned tasks in required time frame evidenced by submission of completed tasks to the supervisor\/team leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.     DESIRABLE QUALITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00fc  Ability to speak, read and write English language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00fc  Ability to express themselves in at least one of the languages \u200b\u200bspoken in the South West Regions, particularly pidgin English;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00fc  Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent diploma;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00fc  Previous experience in implementing humanitarian or data collection activities;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00fc  Proven experience in data collection using smartphones;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00fc  Good physical health and ability to work in rural areas (walking);<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00fc  Have a very high level of rigor;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00fc  Have a sense of organization, team spirit and respect for team members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.     THE  ROLE OF DRC<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Provide guidelines on the recruitment process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Recruitment of individuals for the data collection technical resource pool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Provide technical orientation and mentorship to the pre-qualified \/ selected persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Remunerate and provide technical supervision to the enumerators over the time of the assignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All DRC roles require the post-holder to master DRC\u2019s core competencies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          conduct in relation to DRC\u2019s values and Code of Conduct, including safeguarding against sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knowledge of context: Minimum 10 years working \/ studying \/ living in South West or North West Cameroon.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
