\u2022 Keeping senior management informed on an ongoing basis of the quality of operational risks, deficiencies, issues and the status of corrective actions relating to risk mitigation proffered
\u2022 Providing Management with MIS on the Bank\u2019s risk profile to enable informed decision making
\u2022 Identifying, quantifying and documenting Operational Risks in new and existing products with a focus of reducing inherent Operational Losses and in compliance with the Requirements of the Basel II Accord and Regulatory Authorities for the calculation of Operational Risk Capital Charge \u2013 by Best Practice Banks
\u2022 Coordinating and maintaining accurate and robust loss databases in the Bank in compliance with the Requirements of Basel II Accord and meet Regulatory standards for Operational Risk Capital Calculation by Financial Institutions
\u2022 Developing for implementation appropriate policies, procedures, systems and controls that will drive the reduction of losses and loss events in the Bank thereby increase the profits
\u2022 Coordinating the implementation of Continuity business<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Role & Responsibilities
\u2022 To take an active role in discussions with the business and senior management on operational risks and reputational issues involving new and existing policies, products and processes
\u2022 Implement a pro-active risk mitigating strategies
\u2022 Coordination and management of Operational Risk Functions in the Bank in line with the provision of Basel II Accord
\u2022 Continuous development of policies and risk mitigating initiatives for the management of operational risk exposures
\u2022 Risk Identification & Documentation of Controls in New Products, Procedures, SLAs etc
\u2022 External Risk Identification, Assessment and documentation
of implications for the Bank and the requisite Controls\/Mitigants to be put in place and disseminating same to all stakeholders
\u2022 Proactive identification of emerging Risks in the Bank and the development of Controls for the benefit of all stakeholders
\u2022 Timely and accurate population of the loss database with losses\/loss events reported from all Business units
\u2022 Effective dissemination of Learning points from loss and loss events to all employees
\u2022 Monitoring and analysis of Key Risk Indicators to ascertain the risk profile of the Bank across its business lines
KEY PERFORMANCES INDICATORS
\u2022 Reduce Operational Risk losses in the Bank
\u2022 Instituting high risk management culture in the bank through periodic awareness campaigns and interactive
sessions with stakeholders
\u2022 % implementation of all planned strategic projects and
initiatives in the area of Operational Risk Management<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Implementation and periodic reporting of OpRisk in line with Basel II capital Accord
\u2022 Internal Audit Rating not below an A EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
\u2022 Minimum of Bachelors Degree or equivalent
\u2022 Professional Qualifications is risk management related fields
\u2022 In depth knowledge of operational risk
\u2022 Requirements pertaining to risk mitigation EXPERIENCE
Experience \u2013 Minimum of 0-3 years banking or minimum of 1-4 years non-banking but related experience.
Key Competencies: Knowledge
\u25aa Knowledge of banking operations
\u25aa Deep knowledge of the bank\u2019s products, services and
processes
\u25aa Familiarity with the current regulatory environment on BCP for financial services industry
Deep knowledge of Basel II Accord
