For our country programme office in Cameroon, we are looking for a dynamic and committed Junior Accountant who can support in various tasks in the Finance Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mission of the Department:<\/p>\n\n\n\n


In a spirit of excellence, integrity, and dedication, the Finance Department is committed to providing timely, accurate, clear and complete information, and support for Conservation Department\u2019s overall goals to be achieved by the Cameroon Country Programme Office (CCPO) and ROA Unit at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Major functions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Employees in this job correct, process and reconcile a wide variety of accounting documents such as invoices, programme billings, employee reimbursements, cash receipts, vendor statements, and journal vouchers; review and code financial information; prepare and process documents to disburse funds, make deposits and prepare reports; prepare bank signatory updates, prepares consultant contracts and grants, compile and review information for accuracy; and maintain records. Work is performed by applying knowledge of accounting terminology and using spreadsheets and the Oracle accounting system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Major Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\uf0b7 Process payments and documents such as invoices, journal vouchers, employee reimbursements, and statements;
\uf0b7 Enter, update, and\/or retrieve accounting data from automated systems;
\uf0b7 Determine content and assemble data in order to prepare monthly reports for review;
1<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\uf0b7 File and\/or remove records and reports;
\uf0b7 Assist in the timely closing of monthly account by ensuring cash management, Accounts payable and General Ledger
data is up to date;
\uf0b7 Perform assigned roles in the different tools (AP, GL, AGIS, Oracle, Bridger, GFS, Panda Pays, etc.);
\uf0b7 Assist in preparing cost recovery journals;
\uf0b7 Respond to accounting, budget or financial queries regarding data from staff in the field site primarily;
\uf0b7 Prepare bank reconciliations and conduct analysis of general ledger accounts manually and in the Oracle system;
\uf0b7 Maintain proper control over various financial records such as commitments and expenditures against budgeted
amounts; initiate actions related to the following: general financial information, travel payments, and procurement
transactions;
\uf0b7 Provide assistance to all staff services such as travel, expense claims, document retrieval, etc;
\uf0b7 Perform other related duties as required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Profile:<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u25cf Degree in Accounting\/finance or a related filed and a professional accounting qualification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) is required;
\u25cf At least two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in financial accounting, preferably in an international environment (NGO or Company);
\u25cf Experience working with government and donors;
\u25cf Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications, particularly advanced level in MS excel is required;
\u25cf Experience in using ERP system is highly desirable.
Required Skills and Competencies
\u25cf Knowledge of automated accounting systems. Knowledge of Oracle would be an added advantage
\u25cf Knowledge of spreadsheets and database software;
\u25cf Knowledge of general record keeping and filing systems;
\u25cf Ability to understand and apply current accounting guidelines, system updates and revisions, and policy changes;
\u25cf Ability to reconcile and\/or balance financial transactions and accounts;
\u25cf Ability to manage contracts and update bank signatories
\u25cf Ability to assist others in solving work problems;
\u25cf High ethics and a personal commitment to transparency and accountability;
\u25cf Adherence to WWF\u2019s values, which are: Courage, Respect, Integrity & Collaboration.

Internal: CCPO Finance Team, the Regional Finance Team, WWF Cameroon staff External: Donors, partners and other stakeholders, if appropriate<\/p>\n\n\n\n
