This is your opportunity to join and make a difference to Maersk\u2019s development!<br><br>*SWA Area countries: Cameroon, Angola, Congo, DRC, Gabon, Chad, Central Africa Republic, and Equatorial Guinea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We offer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 A unique and exciting opportunity for personal and professional development in a team of 12 professionals managing a portfolio of ~1.2 bn USD per year<br>\u2022 A procurement career while building a strong platform for future leadership roles within Maersk<br>\u2022 Being part of the Maersk Global Procurement community<br>\u2022 A positive and diverse work environment where new ideas are always welcomed.<br>\u2022 Support from colleagues and management who possess extensive experience in sourcing, cost management and logistics business<br>\u2022 Very high level of influence and ability to deliver immediate results<br>\u2022 Senior management exposure from day one<br>\u2022 Ability to get familiarized working in and with Africa, while being exposed to global operations and creating global impact<br>\u2022 A fast-paced and dynamic environment with a distinct respect for the individual<br>\u2022 An international team with likeminded top performers<br>\u2022 Diverse project portfolio and ability to see end-to-end procurement cycle<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Leads, directs, evaluates, and develops the L&amp;S Procurement function in South West Africa (SWA)<br>\u2022 Being an integral part of the Area Management Team and hence being a true business partner<br>\u2022 Responsible of designing an executing a Procurement strategy together with Area and Regional stakeholders as well as AFR Procurement<br>\u2022 Leading negotiations and driving engagement between Maersk and its suppliers.<br>\u2022 Managing complex procurement projects within operations, to ensure alignment between costs, commercial needs and operational execution.<br>\u2022 Responsible for supplier relationship management, building strong relations with the vendors to drive value through the supply chain<br>\u2022 Being accountable for the portfolio framework to help ensure cost leadership, compliance and best in class supplier performance.<br>\u2022 Accountability for problem solving, analytical work, and driving insights from analytical work related to procurement functions<br>\u2022 Performing supplier market analysis and organising market intelligence.<br>\u2022 Cooperating closely with colleagues and stakeholders in all Maersk offices and with manager and colleagues within Africa.<br>\u2022 Some travel must be expected<br>\u2022 Has responsibility for training and growing employees within the L&amp;S Procurement function to build organizational capability, talent, improves the way the team works<br>\u2022 Close interaction with Contract Management through self and team, to ensure all agreements are realizing contractual values&nbsp;<br>\u2022 Driving Maersk\u2019s vision of becoming a global integrator of container logistics and growing the company\u2019s inland footprint in Africa.&nbsp;<br>\u2022 Solving problems in a structured and analytical manner<br>\u2022 Managing internal and external stakeholder relations<br>\u2022 Overall responsible for optimizing the procurement spend across the L&amp;S 3rd party spend<br>\u2022 As a member of the Area ALT the incumbent will play a key role in the development and execution of the L&amp;S commercial strategy<br>\u2022 Develop category strategy in alignment with area business plans<br>\u2022 Enable sustainable and profitable growth through best-in-class sourcing, optimizing operational behaviors and supplier innovation.<br>\u2022 Develop and oversee the realization of the procurement plan (Pipeline)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We are looking for<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree, preferably in business, logistics and supply chain management<br>\u2022 &gt;10 years procurement would be a key advantage and i.e. in a matrix organization.<br>\u2022 Experience in leading teams is a must.<br>\u2022 Fluency in French is a plus.<br>\u2022 Experience in Transformation is a plus.<br>\u2022 Ability to work in ambiguous contexts and quickly adapt without losing speed or executional focus<br>\u2022 Experience in leading significant contract negotiations is necessary, ideally within supply chain management, logistics or shipping operations.<br>\u2022 Ability to drive motivation &amp; engagement within the team<br>\u2022 Awareness of cost drivers will be highly valued in the selection process.&nbsp;<br>\u2022 It is necessary to possess experience within project management and it is expected that the candidate in previous roles have acted as project leader for cross-functional projects.&nbsp;<br>\u2022 The individual we are looking for must have strong communication &amp; interpersonal skills, through which he or she will engage a broad range of colleagues and stakeholders locally, regionally, and globally across a wide range of departments.&nbsp;<br>\u2022 We are looking for an experienced negotiator with a solid track record within various environments and across multiple geographies.&nbsp;<br>\u2022 Seek new opportunities with the customer in mind and be open to and listen to new ideas and different perspectives<br>\u2022 The person will be responsible for driving key procurement projects forward and will be an integral part of the team and its ability to deliver on our ambitious goals.
