Job Description
The Civil Engineer will execute engineering duties in planning, designing, supervising
construction and maintenance activities of the cement grinding plant, office structures, water
sewage systems, and waste disposal units.
Duties and Responsibilities (Not Exhaustive)
\u2022 Supervise construction activities, operations, and maintenance at the plant site;
\u2022 Evaluate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project
viability;
\u2022 Test materials to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, rods;
\u2022 Contribute in surveying to lay out installations and establish reference points, grades,
and elevations to guide construction;
\u2022 Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design
specifications and safety or sanitation standards;
\u2022 Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other
topographical or geologic data to plan projects;
\u2022 Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and
structural repairs to industrial and managerial personnel;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 A good understanding of mechanical processes in the cement industry;
\u2022 Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it;
\u2022 Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative
solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems;
\u2022 Understand safety measures in a construction plant;
\u2022 Good communication skills, an outstanding aptitude to work in a team;
\u2022 Fluent in spoken and written English and German and a working knowledge in
French;
\u2022 Very good Microsoft Office skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Qualification
\u2022 A Bachelor\u2019s Degree or its equivalent in Civil Engineering. A master\u2019s degree is a plus.
Experience
\u2022 At least 7 \u2013 10 years\u2019 experience of practice in civil construction.
\u2022 Should be a registered member of a professional body in the related field.
