Job purpose Provide finance and administration support to Green DEALL, a non-for-profit and research organisation tackling challenges at the intersection of development and environmental protection, including human-wildlife conflicts, climate change, land and resource degradation. The post holder will be responsible for day-to-day financial management, accounting, and administrative tasks under the supervision of the Executive Director. | |
Main duties Financial Management · Contribute to budget planning, revision and monitoring · Prepare, track, and maintain registers and receipts · Ensure financial transactions are authorised, recorded, filed with adequate supporting documentation · Prepare employees’ pay slips · Manage suppliers and inventories (orders, delivery invoices, etc…) · Prepare timely and reliable financial updates, reports and statements; · Provide reports and information to the Director and the Treasurer as required · Support the conduct of Green DEALL financial audits · Assist with financial policy updating and enforcement Administration · Run administrative operations and errands · Perform digital and physical archiving of documents · Assist in organising meetings and drafting meeting reports · Assist in preparing Green DEALL activity and project reports · Ensure proper record keeping of programme, project and administrative activities · Assist staff with travel and lodging arrangements · Assist with administrative policy development and enforcement · Coordinate visa issuance and other arrangements for foreign visitors · Ensure proper welcome arrangements for foreign visitors

Person specifications Qualifications · Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration from a recognised educational institution · Bachelor’s degree in the above areas with additional years of relevant experience is accepted Experience · A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in Finance and Administration · Accounting/book-keeping (experience with computerised accountancy systems would be ideal) · Data recording and monitoring – preferably experience with electronic data recording systems Knowledge, skills, and abilities · Accuracy in reporting detailed financial information · Strong computing skills and mastery of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, OneDrive, Outlook, Teams, etc..), and handling of web-based management systems (Share Point, Microsoft team, etc.) · Confidence in liaising with external organisations · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative · Ability to manage resources in an efficient and effective way, in line with principles of accountability and integrity · Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload, manage competing tasks and meet deadlines · Ability to travel to locally and to rural areas as required Languages · Fluency in English is required · Proficiency in French is an added advantage Personal qualities · Strong commitment to integrity, trustworthy and reliable · Punctual and efficient · Consistent and flexible – able to deal with changing and competing demands · Ability to think creatively and show initiative Required documentation · Cover letter indicating why the candidate is suitable for the position · CV · Highest university degree · Contacts of a minimum of two reference persons Send the above files to greendeallinfo@gmail.com |
