Responsibilities
The Extractive desk Supervisor is to manage and supervise the processing of basic to relatively complex transfers in coordination with the Transaction Services team. The overall objective is to perform moderately complex cash & Trade operation tasks, by processing, monitoring, and reporting of transactions for our valued customers with a focus on customers from the extractive sector, and transactions operated from a foreign currency. Should be able to interact with the CB team, follow up all pending transactions and relay to the business, all challenge encountered, while ensuring Citibank policies and procedures are maintained in the highest standard.
Working under direct supervision of the Excon Unit Head
Responsibilities:
Processes:
Manage and supervise operations released from foreign currency account (FCY) and from customers operating in the extractive sector business.
Develop leadership to build and maintain high performance in the team for high level of quality and delivery to sensitive clients expecting high standard. Desk includes local and international transactions.
Monitoring and reception of customer’s instruction at the counter and from various e-channels.
Perform cash & Trade operations analysis and processing.
Cross check to ensure customer transaction type tally with the approved list from Central bank
Keep good tracking of transactions received till processing E2E
Scanning and validation of documents in various business application
Checking for completeness of Compliance documentation for Cross Boarder Funds
validation of different messages swift MT298, MT299, and various memo for processing
Processing firm payments, receivables, trade transactions, liquidity inflows
Initiate follow up an ensure end to end processing with different stakeholder including Central bank.
Performed clearance requirement on transactions after processing as well as clearance of export domiciliation files related extractives sector
Ensure a comprehensive management reports is in place ( Pending transactions report, deferral report , KPI report, Dashboard, volumes, being EOD, weekly, Monthly or add report)
Ensure good record of source documents for transactions received
Perform other activities as assigned by the supervisor
Service and Customer Experience:
Promote a culture of service excellence and quality assurance, championing the concept of continuous improvement in business processes, combined with controls appropriate to the level of risk.
Assist to attend to customers calls for transaction documentation, clarification and training.
Automation & Efficiency:
Own TTS operational project needs and automation initiatives.
Research, identify and recommend technology capabilities that enable the reduction of client inquiries and manual touch points.
Propose and implement solutions that will increase operating efficiency and lead to an improved client experience
Serve as a subject matter expert for User Acceptance Training (UAT) and training initiatives; train new team members and lower level personnel
Controls:
Make quality service delivery an integral part of operating culture in the bank
Ensure enhancement and maintenance of internal controls to reduce/control risks and to improve operations standards in Citibank Cameroon
Perform assigned Departmental Control function checklist items on a regular basis(Weekly) and MCA.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Stakeholder management:
Handling internal clients (Relationship managers, Citi service, processing team ) Investigations on extractive and FCY account’s transactions.
Establish preferred relationship with the regulators
Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in banking environment is preferable
Minimum 4-5 years of relevant experience international banking operations
Demonstrate a good mastering of the Exchange control regulation in general and in the regulation on the extractive sector and foreign currency accounts in particulars.
Effective analytic and presentation skills
Education:
University Degree in Banking, Finance, economic and related fields
