Summary:
The work schedule for this position is:

Full Time (40 hours per week)

Duties
The Janitor Team Lead serves as Team Leader to fourteen (14) Janitors. Assists in developing daily work schedules, training custodians, providing needed supplies, solving unusual or difficult problems, and cleaning assigned areas. Assigns work responsibilities to Janitors and monitors their work for quality and appropriate use of time, tools, cleaning detergent, and other materials.  This position backs up the Housekeeping Supervisor.


Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:  At least two (2) years of janitorial experience in a large institution or international organization required.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must know proper cleaning methods and be able to properly utilize a full range of cleaning equipment and products. Must be knowledgeable about safety protocols, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals, handling hazardous materials, and adhering to relevant health and safety regulations. Must know proper cleaning methods and be able to properly utilize a full range of cleaning equipment and products. Must be aware of safety and protective gear.

Must be able to exercise judgment in assigning workers to maximize the skills available for a given task.  Decides on cleaning materials to be used and exercises judgment in quality control.    

Education Requirements:
Successful completion of elementary school is required.

Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:   Limited Knowledge (speaking/writing) in English and French is required. These may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Ability to work with subordinates’ ability to perform cleaning functions. Ability to read and understand basic instructions. Be able to utilize full range of cleaning equipment’s and products.  These may be tested.

Agency Benefits:
Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Yaounde, Cameroon may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
