PARTAGER AVEC VOS PROCHES SUR :

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 85 years, and are now active in more than 80 countries.

The Opportunity

The Global Safeguarding Unit at Plan International’s Global Hub provides the strategic direction for child and programme participant safeguarding (which includes PSHEA – preventing sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse) interventions. This includes the implementation of our safeguarding and PSHEA policies, our intersectional approach to safeguarding, and the management of reported policy breaches, incidents and concerns.

As the Global Safeguarding and PSHEA Case Adviser your primary focus will be on case advisory and supporting the case management of all safeguarding and SHEA cases in the Region of the Americas (ROA) and West and Central Africa (WACA). You will provide professional and sensitive support in a coordinated and accountable way, in line with our policies and best practice, meeting all deadlines and maintaining strict confidentiality.

The Individual

With previous case management experience in safeguarding and/or SHEA, preferably with experience working with an incident reporting system such as Camms. You will be highly analytical with good attention to detail as well as able to produce high level good quality reports.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to listen empathetically, communicate and negotiate, while taking into account cultural and language differences. You will need to have an in-depth understanding of how gender, age, race and other socio-cultural factors intersect and impact on power, privilege and vulnerability.

You will be self-motivated with excellent prioritisation skills and a flexible, resilient approach. The ability to speak and write in Spanish and or French is highly preferable, with the ability to communicate effectively in English essential.
